About Me

MySpace Profile Help!Dan Forshaw was hailed as “one of the finest young tenor players in the north west” at the 2004 Southport International Jazz festival. An accomplished saxophonist, Dan has built up his reputation through the hard work and innovative style characterised by the Dan Forshaw Quintet (affectionately known as the DFQ).
After spending part of 2005 in the jazz capital of the world, New York City, Dan, fired up from the inspiration he received from jazz legends such as Branford Marsalis, Ravi Coltrane and Greg Tardy moved from his native Lancashire to the London scene in October of 2005.
Equally at home performing in a range of genres, Dan is frequently called upon for his skills as a session musician in all styles and is also in demand to lecture in both jazz and music technology.A deep study of the life of John Coltrane and in particular his seminal album "A Love Supreme", lead Dan towards a more spiritual outlook on both his life and music. This has lead Dan to study for a degree in Theology & Music at the London School of Theology. The opportunity to study more about his Christian faith and to enhance his musical training was a fantastic opportunity that is paying dividends both on and off the bandstand.
With four successful albums already to his name, Dan's reputation continues to grow, and he is set to become a prominent British jazz musician in the 21st CenturyHope you like the material let us know your thoughts and visit our proper site at http://www.danforshaw.com You've been marked on my visitor map!
