About Me

Back in the days, music was life. Music was inspired by life, music was breathing life. Hip Hop was born from real life lived to its fullest, day by day. Now, about 30 years later, in 2007 the main question is “Are things goin’ in the right way?”……“I’m gonna try and change the course of hip hop again” Dr.Dre once said. This is exactly what Ghetto Squad are planning to shoot for in 2007, already with a year and a half of hard work and dedication for hip hop behind, on the grind 24/7 nothin but tryin’ to make their music sound right. “Puttin’ your soul in a record’s a rare thing these days. Kinda like a Mohican.” Mista’ B says, “We got all the right elements, we just need to put’em in order and throw’em out there, so people can understand what we about. We some of the last Mohicans.” he explains reffering to the musical concept behind the Ghetto Squad. They had been down with hip hop several years when they got together in 2005 and founded the Ghetto Squad, deciding that they had a road to follow in music. They grew up in eastern Europe, in Romania, an ex-communist latin country, covered in the scars of the communist regime, even though almost 20 years have past since the blood-covered fall of dictatorship. Eastory & Mista’B. go way back in the days of junior high following 3 of the 4 elements in hip hop before they started producing records and writing rhymes. First off starting as bboys, then runnin as graffiti writers, in 2004 they got the chance to spin records for several hip hop parties thus starting to work as music producers, making hip hop beats for a project that was never finished, or let’s just say it was improved by creating the Ghetto Squad. In 2005, they met Sly who, at the time, had already mastered the skills of rhyme-writing and they got together making efforts to go in the studio and make some music. The first track they recorded had an unexpected success in the local underground scene and got them thinking on future projects that could really bring life back into music. It’s been almost 2 years since this happened and it’s easy to see that they haven’t been sleepin’ around…“It’s 2007 and we ready to blow this shit. We bringin’ it back. Look out for the GHETTO SQUAD !” – Mista’ B.
