Annika is one of the hot new entertainers to hit the music scene. This dancer turned singer/songwriter choreographed and performed her first group dance routine to Janet Jackson's 1990 hit "Alright". It was then that she discovered her talent for entertaining. She became involved in the arts at an early age and performed in talent contests throughout her youth. From high stepping as a majorette to singing in the school choir, Annika was a natural. Since then she has choreographed, performed, directed and studied in many fields of entertainment. Whether it was singing, taking guitar lessons or learning to tap dance, Annika was practically destined to make music. Hailing from the home of musical talents Isaac Hayes, Elvis Presley, and let us not forget Justin Timberlake, this blues, rock and barbeque-bred chanteuse is creating a buzz throughout the Mid-South.Ànnika grew up in a musical family, inheriting a love for Classical/Jazz music through her father and R&B/Gospel through her mother and grandmother. The daughter of working middle class parents, Ànnika was encouraged to attend college instead of pursuing a musical career. Deciding not to let go of her love for entertainment, Ànnika chose to pursue a degree in performing arts. In addition to studying the arts at The University of Memphis, Ànnika also studied at the prestigious Bob Westbrook Entertainment, Robert Gordon Acting Studio and Mid-South Academy of Dance. She was a member of the award-winning Fairley High School Gospel Choir and was named Most Artistic Auxiliary Member of the Fairley High School Marching Band. In the realm of dance Ànnika has choreographed and performed with various amateur and professional groups including the Memphis Grizzlies Dance Team. An accomplished beauty queen and a successful director, Ànnika opened an entertainment based company in 2004, which specializes in choreography and special event coordination. Her educational career has been filled with a host of awards including the Whitehaven Development Group Leadership Award and Elvis Presley’s Graceland Community Service Award. Well aware of the world around her this vibrant star is an avid sponsor for Big Brothers Big Sisters, NAACP and The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.With her college career behind her, Ànnika’s music career is in full swing. She is set to release her debut album during 2008.
