"YUNG WIZ" For some time now, JAG has had the ears of Memphis burning, and now it's time for the world to get ready. With the new hit singles "DEAD FRESH" & "TRAP WALK", Juan is giving the streets and the clubs what they want. But the upcoming album is by far more diverse than just club tracks, because Juan uses his life experiences and his genuine love for the streets to make music that's guaranteed to have the ladies dropping and fellas.. heads bobbin'. With the death of his parents at a young age, Juan Was left to fend for himself with the help of his older brother. Struggling through life without parents, Juan used their memory as his inspiration and dedicated his life to music. Juan started as a producer in JAG, but he had an obvious flair for laying down catchy hooks and although he occasionally spit a verse or two on various songs, it was evident that he had a way of making a song complete. Now as the main artist within the group, it's his time to shine. Artists like Three Six Mafia, Project Pat, Eightball and MJG, have proved that some of the hottest south music hails from MEMPHIS, TN, and Juan is prepared to exceed expectations of new artists coming from MEMPHIS. Along with the legendary Memphis rappers, Field Mob, Outkast and Tupac are some of his all-time favorites. Now that JAG has been signed to "ON THA GRIND RECORDS", the anticipation of the upcoming album his hit the roof. Since he is guaranteed to have most fire tracks from his group members/producers West, G, and C Broady, Juan's versatile style brings what's been missing from the South. *************************************************Gary a.k.a. "G" It is barely overstated by calling Gary "G" Williams of JAG, a modern day Einstein. As the Co-founder of the group JAG along with his Brother Trell (R.I.P), his business sense and determination has pushed them toward success. As a child G was considered "different." Although he had a love for basketball, it would be no surprise to find him glued to the television as Bill Nye the Science guy enlightened his young mind. Finding his strength in gaining knowledge, he was drawn to rappers like Tupac and Outkast, whose lyrics went beyond materialism and violence that rap was commonly known far. Staying devoted to the group, G constantly encouraged the members to stay focused. His knowledge of the music industry increased; which kept the group current with ever-changing trends in hip hop. As one of the senior producer, G is known for creating concepts for the songs that are guaranteed to get the attention of listeners everywhere. G's creativity doesn't stop with music, pretty soon he will be releasing some of his own designs with "J'agochi" clothing line. Featuring some of the hottest hats' t-shirts and custom sneakers, "J'agochi", will definitely be a new trendsetter in the fashion industry. Since he is constantly grindin' toward success, it is no surprise that JAG would merge with "ON THA GRIND RECORDS" to ensure that their music is heard and loved worldwide.**************************************************
******************************************************** Josh a.k.a. "West on tha Trax" a.k.a. "Black Jesus" JAG would be incomplete without the musical gifts of Josh West. Since a child he had an undying love for music. Now as the senior and skilled producer for JAG, West is laying down tracks that have the streets wanting more. Born and raised in South Memphis, West, has more than a few artists and producers who have influenced his direction in music. Some of his favorites include, Three Six Mafia, Bun B, T.I. and of course Outkast. Although his preference is the hip hop genre, West is constantly crossing over into many genres to create a sound that is in a class of its own. West's goal is to bring a new sound to music for people to enjoy at every level. Whether it is for the streets, the clubs or music to ride to, with the help of West, JAG ahs something for everyone. This trio was able to amaze "ON THA GRIND RECORDS" with their business sense, production, and explosive songs and it was inevitable that they joined the "ON THA GRIND" team. ************************************************************

Having an inside track pays dividends. For rising rap trio JAG, its insider advantage is that all three members of the group produce -- something that’s never occurred before in rap history. Yung Whiz doubles as a rapper, West conceptualizes most of the group’s club-ready, commercially minded beats and G serves as the trio’s creative advisor, writing hooks, coming up with song concepts and producing tracks. It’s a formula that works magically on the Memphis crew’s astounding debut album, the impeccable Music, Power, Respect. “That’s what music is about now,†G explains of the album’s title. “If you’ve got something in music, you’ve got power and respect in the game.â€Growing up in South Memphis, the members of JAG met in elementary school and formed a quick bond. They were all infatuated with music and had another link: older brothers who played a similar mix of hardcore rap from N.W.A, 2 Live Crew and Top Authority. As time passed, Yung Wiz became enamored with such lyrical artists as OutKast, T.I., Field Mob and Eminem. Yung Wiz started focusing on his rhymes and became JAG’s rapper. (The group’s name is derived from the initials of the group members’ given names.)As Yung Wiz matured as an MC, West and G continued sharpening their production skills. “It’s always good to have an in-house producer, especially one that identifies with the type of music that you do,†G says of West. “We all came up together making music, so West understands the direction that we’re going in with the music. Once we get in the studio and we tell him the type of songs we’re trying to do, he already knows what we’re talking about.â€To this end, the West-produced “Dead Fresh†knocks with sinister gangsterism, while the organ-driven “1-2-3 Gangsta†provides Yung Wiz a perfect platform to delivered street-centered boasts that will appeal to block denizens everywhere. “I’m trying to grab people with what’s going on in the hood,†Yung Wiz explains. “Everybody wants to blow dro and on a Saturday or Sunday, they all want to chill and ride slow. We’re just putting it down on paper for the people.â€JAG then takes it to the clubs with the anthemic “Girls Gone Wild.†Produced by West, the song is propelled by a catchy rock guitar and was inspired by the success of the soft-porn video empire it is named after. “I was trying to make a nice track with a lot of energy that people could feel and girls could go wild off of,†West says. “I was trying to picture a club atmosphere where a lot of girls were taking their shirts off and water was being thrown around everywhere.â€Even though JAG is a self-contained unit, some of the biggest producers in the business are already clamoring to work with them. One of them is Carlos Broady (The Notorious B.I.G., Nas, Lil’ Kim). He helmed the sly “Fuck My Car,†which centers on how women tend to gravitate toward with men with flashy rides, and the uptempo-smoothed out “You Got It.†The latter, a meditation on Yung Wiz taking care of his woman, is a future smash.Another major producer appearing on Music, Power, Respect is DJ Montay from the Big Oomp camp (Baby D, DJ Unk). He produced the energetic “Trap Walk.†That song in particular signaled a milestone for JAG. “It let us know that we’re moving to the next level,†G says. “We moved from doing things in our house studio to a big studio. It’s similar to our own studio because it’s in the hood and you don’t have that out of touch feel. We could get relaxed and think about the music.†The song features DJ Unk of Walk It Out fame. That’s what it’s all about for JAG: the music. They put a distinctive spin on their material, whether the song is about staying fresh, grinding in the streets or women. And, most importantly, every song is as enjoyable as it is good. “We’re trying to bring our own sound to the game,†G says. “This is the beginning to a saga.â€It’s a saga whose soundtrack kicks off with JAG’s Music, Power, Respect.
