W.E. pronounced (we) consist of five members: Tony Lubin, Steven Harris, Tony Johnson, Mohamed Aniff and Reginald Haley. These five Guys met in 1999 while working regular nine to five jobs in the Bay Area. Little did they know there was a larger plan in store for them? After a brief conversation and realizing they had a common interest in music, Mohamed (Guitar, bass & vocals) and Reginald (Keyboards) began writing songs together. It was the combination of acoustic guitar licks from Mohamed and Production provided by Reginald that made for a very unique sound. The material was so good they decided to create a band.Mohamed brought in Steven Harris a bassvocalist. Steve brought in Tony Johnson a Church Drummer and a great tenor vocalist the band was Almost complete and after auditioning for a strong Superstar lead singer Reginald was referred by a friend To Tony Lubin. Tony brought the raw talent of a Gospel singer to the group and W.E. was born. W.E. Stands for West & East Coast since each member is from a Different city and state, each member brought a unique Style and influence, which made for great sounding Harmonies and songs, the band blends elements of R and B & funk to gospel and Rock. Their influences range from Boys to Men, The Temptations, Parliment, Larry Graham And the God Farther himself James Brown just to name a Few. In the summer of 2001 W.E. released Misery an EP Their first project produced by Myron Dove of Santana.The single sold over 1500 units in the local markets and received great reviews making W.E. the premier male harmony group in the Bay Area. In April of 2002 W.E. performed live at the California Music Awards that aired on UPN 44 Bay Area. The performance featured Sammy Hagar, Smash mouth and others. And in 2003 W.E. along with special guest Juan Escavido was the opening act for the California Music Awards in Oakland it was a free event and packed over 16,000 screaming Fans. The line up included John B, Green Day, and the Great Larry Graham. The bands latest achievement was the performance at the World Famous Apollo theaters in New York City.
