About Me

New Page 1

Briana Scott, a native of Phoenix, Arizona, began singing as a child at the Emmanuel C.O.G.I.C. under the leadership of the late Bishop Felton King. She went on to become a lead singer in a number of choirs and groups throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area as well as nationally (C.O.G.I.C. Recording Choir) under Dr. Mattie Moss Clark, Phoenix Mass Choir under Eddie James, workshop choirs under Jeffrey LaValley and Keith Pringle.

God has birthed a new sound of Praise & Worship. It’s a sound relative to every listener that connects the heart of God’s people back to Him. Briana sings with a soft, calming presence that profoundly affects the atmosphere. According to Peggy Oliver of Gospelcity.com, “Briana has a fascinating voice capable of exceptional song interpretation and a smart sense of arrangements, especially on the worship medley.” Briana’s music is inspired by scripture (Psalm 57:9-11), meant to exalt the Lord and encourage worship. It sooths the soul, inspires the heart and strengthens the spirit. When asked about the objective of her ministry, she responded, “I want my music to put people in a posture of worship."

In 2005, Briana launched her label Waterbrooke Music and subsequently released her independent debut album, “While I’m Here”, which earned her Stellar Award and Dove Award nominations. The project featured many great songs. The most prominent songs included: While I’m Here, Clean Heart, Brand New Day, and of course the worship medley featuring Here I Am to Worship and I Give You My Heart, penned by Tim Hughes and Hillsong’s Reuben Morgan, respectively. Scott's versatility is shown as she appeals to Latin America with a bilingual recording of Honor, written by her cousin Singer/Songwriter Eddie James (Karen Wheaton Ministries).

Briana has appeared on TBN and on the Gospel of Music with Jeff Majors Show, which is aired on TV One, a cable and satellite network founded by Cathy Hughes. Additionally, Briana has been the guest worship leader and psalmist at many conferences and churches including those of highly revered pastors Bishop Charles E. Blake (West Angeles Church of God in Christ), Bishop Ernestine Reems-Dickerson (Center of Hope Community Church), and Pastor E.V. Hill, II (Calvary Temple Pentecostal Church). Briana had the awesome privilege of ministering with some of gospel music's greats to include: Dr. Mattie Moss Clark and The Clark Sisters, Tramaine Hawkins, Sandy Patti, Krystal Lewis, Kim Burrell, Israel Houghton, and a host of others.

Briana currently serves as a worship leader at First Institutional Baptist Church in Phoenix, AZ where her pastor is the dynamic Dr. Warren H. Stewart, Sr. In addition to being an anointed psalmist and lyricist; Briana is a wife, mother, teacher and student of the word. "The word of God is my song; therefore, Let my heart be sound in thy statutes; that I be not ashamed. Psalms 119:80
