Ellie Walker

Ellie Walker was born and raised in Cambridgeshire, and has been writing songs since she was about 17. Although she is a classically trained singer, her first love lies with performing her own songs. Having only started gigging in July of 2006, fronting her own band (The Group Hugs) and playing the delicate, sublime songs she was born to sing, she has played with many critically acclaimed artists such as Rachel Unthank and the Winterset and Mark Morriss. The Group Hugs features members of The Broken Family Band, RTC and Econoline, and they have recently recorded their debut E.P., ‘It’s Not Fair’ with Owen Turner at the Sickroom, Norfolk. Ellie is currently finishing a degree in Music at Anglia Ruskin University, and also sings with Daniel Flay and the Irreparable Guilt, who have also just recorded their debut E.P. ‘Be at peace and without fear, while it is still possible’.
