About Me

RELEASES COMING UP IN 2008:

LUCY AND THE CATERPILLARTHE NOUGHTS AND CROSSES BANDPREVIOUS RELEASES:
THE VCs:A military research centre, location and purpose unknown: scientist Keyop-503 creates Fembot-S4FF for use as a spy droid by Vocoder Joe.Devised as a military weapon but given too much intelligence, Vocoder Joe plans and executes a daring escape from the centre with the fembot and scientist. The three outcasts have now taken it as their chosen duty to save the world from the evil machinations of the group, harbouring under secret identities ...as three musicians from Wigan in their early twenties with an unhealthy obsession with sci-fi.That is until they split up in 2007 to pursue other fantastical interests in music. PWP still loves them though! The Hidden Messages:The mission statement was to form a band that created the best pop songs in the world without forsaking lyrical content, the beauty of a 5-part harmony and ever so sly digs at fastidious ex-housemates.THE HIDDEN MESSAGES are a 5-piece band who hail from London. Fronted by Matthew (vocals, guitar) who has equal billing with Edd (vocals, guitar, euphonium), Clare (keyboards, violin, vocals), Justin (bass) and Kenny (drums). From the pop infused minds of genuine music fans, the band have worked towards creating a sound that is all their own yet giving a knowing wink to bands they hold in high regard. They also realise that all this sounds like a big cliché, but reiterate these facts in their well received live shows. The band's musical influence can be plucked from a number of genres, but it would be an exercise in futility to just list them all. Instead just know that they have an affinity for animals dressed up like little people. Whether this comes across in the songs is irrelevant as what does come across is the passion for British songcraft and the ability to creep up on you with a melt in the mouth chorus.Their marvelous debut single 'Over/Elephant's Graveyard' was released last year on the dangerously hip Pop Will Prevail record label. For further details visit www.thehiddenmessages.com and www.myspace.com/thehiddenmessagesThe Headlines:Brimming with youthful confidence, The Headlines posses an energy that translates into a powerful, impassioned blend of indie-rock and pop, and in a relatively small amount of time they have managed to rise from the glut of indie mediocrity and reveal themselves as one of the most promising acts in the country. An embryonic version of the band emerged, (minus singer Duncan) whilst still at high school in Marple, a small leafy village just outside Manchester. It was a shared love of The Cure, and a spare ticket for their gig that led to the formation of the current line-up. Although they hardly knew each other, but as both paid up members of the drummers union, Andy invited Duncan to go to the show. Andy recalls the rehearsal the day after the boozed up gig, "We were having a practice, just the four of us, then Duncan just turned up at the door. It was the night after the gig and I was like, did I invite Duncan to practice?" Duncan butts in "That was my audition man, and you couldnt even remember arranging it!" Forced into singing because "Andys a better drummer than me", the band gelled. "We were just jamming away and within 10 minutes I wrote the lyrics to our first song, Tension on the Front", recalls Duncan. Finding this immediate creativity with Duncan as the singer and as a natural front man see them live now, and just imagine having this guy stuck behind the kit? The Headlines were born. With every member of the band practically a master of their machines at the age of 18, the band thankfully didnt have to gig endlessly to refine their skills, and already display an explosive onslaught of razor sharp riffs and elaborate showmanship. Sharing bills with the likes of The Rumblestrips, Lady Fuzz and Dead Fly Buchowski, the band know they can more than hold their own with higher profile bands.Yet they know that their live show is only as good as their songs and the band are only as good as their last gig. As main writer of the music, Rob enthuses about his use of technology in the songwriting process, "I arrange a load of ideas on the computer then play them to the band at rehearsals, we then play over the arrangements and the songs take shape really quickly. We draw the line at having a backing track on stage though, its all got to be live." Duncan however understands the pressure of being the sole lyricist, "The trouble is, finding inspiration. Especially living in Marple, you end up just writing about Marple being shit, but then you realise what writing a song is meant to be. Performance, poetry, frustration with irony but nobody gets it." Well, thats now not quite true.Swipe!:Describing themselves as "Four semi-miserable semi-Welshmen", Swipe are based in Cardiff and Brighton. They're fronted by Brighton-based James Chant, formerly bandleader of Small Victories and sometime bassist for James Dean Bradfield. Indeed, it was touring the world with Bradfield which persuaded Chant to take his own music to a wider audience. With a full band lineup recruited, Swipe were born. A limited edition debut single, Mercy Me, was released in October 2006 on the Pop Will Prevail label. The band recorded it in Cardiff's Stir Studios.

So as you see we are not like all the other record labels. We love our music and we dont want you to feel like you are just buying a bit of plastic. You are not. You are buying Ltd Edition pieces of heaven with little gifts to keep you happy. Each band we release a record for are bands we truly believe will change the world for the better. A world where pop can run free without fear of being tarnished by people who are in it just for the moolah.
