About Me

E-Wing met on Wandsworth jail's notorious E Wing in 1985. Bayfield (guitar) Hawkins (drums) and Webb (bass) were in for robbery and Taylor, the posh singer was in for fraud. Bolton the dancer was in for arson after falling asleep in a fabric shop holding a lit cigarette. The four were released on parole and Webb persuaded them to kill the jury who sent him down. Loyal to the last, the rest of the band complied, bombing the coffins for good measure. For this act of depravity, the band were put back in Wandsworth for life. They released several albums on cassette only, most notably 'Bury the Jury' which contained songs with titles such as 'Dirty Protest' and 'Slop Out Blues', and the follow up, 'Coffin Bomber' which opened with the surprisingly melodic 'You Look Like A Girl From Behind (And That's OK)' E-Wing's live shows were rowdy affauirs and songs began when Bolton lit up a cigarette and ended when he stubbed it out. The albums were recorded on primitive equipment in the prison canteen and all copies were confiscated and remain property of HM Prison Service.A recently discovered fragment of 'Not Dead Enough' was recently uncovered on cassette in Malaysia and appears here.
