British Whale is performed, recorded and produced entirely by Justin Hawkins of The Darkness. It is music made with no compromises and will slap people on the back of the head with its pure unsullied silliness. Anyone that doesn't like it has a smelly bum.
To date British Whale has released 'This Town Ain't Big Enough For Both Of Us', a cover of the 1974 number 2 by Sparks. A powerful, organic home studio recording, it gained the ultimate seal of approval from Ron and Russell Mael and landed at number 6 in the hit parade in August 2005.
Now Hawkins unleashes his next opus: a real English footie anthem, and a welcome antidote to the efforts from Embrace, Tony Christie and yes, even the Crazy Frog. The brand new single from British Whale is England, a moving hymn to this very England; to the country, it's people and its football team!
Soon to be heard echoing out across terraces the length and breadth of Germany, it's available as a download for only 99p from the British Whale official website - www.britishwhale.com - from 30th April 2006. Listen to an exclusive stream of it now, here at Myspace!
