About Me

Chas Bayfield had a good job at a London ad agency where he wrote ads for Tango. It was then that he met Justin Hawkins and collaborated on Justin's yet to be released solo album. Claire Yvonne Tilley was an occupational therapist in Camden. Claire and Chas met speed dating at Greenbelt Festival in 2004. Within months they were married and received electric guitars as wedding gifts. Neither had played or been in a band before. They caught a plane to Vegas and spent a week on a tour bus with The Darkness. On returning to London, Claire Yvonne switched to bass and they recruited long time friends Nelson Flowers (drums) and Michael Chocolate (keys). Chas, Claire and Michael packed in their jobs and are now poorer but happier. With the addition of Mia on lead guitar and Claire Yvonne's identical twin, Kathy Leigh on violin and backing vocals, the line up was complete. Their first gig was at the Colour Bar in Camden in December 2005.
