My Interests

Reading, walking, technology talk, podcasts, science, music, writing, time travel (but first I have to convince myself that time exists...)

I'd like to meet:

Kevin Smith, Henry Rollins, John C. Dvorak, Leo Laporte, Amber MacArthur, anyone interesting....

Music:

Obviously depends on my mood, but here are some: Green Day, Sex Pistols, Alice in Chains, Aretha Franklin, Bessie Smith, The Beatles, Billie Holliday, B-52's, Black Flag, Brian Setzer Orchestra, Butthole Surfers, Cream, Creedance Clearwater Revival, Elvis Costello, Foo Fighters, Glenn Miller, Good Charlotte, Iggy Pop, Jimi Hendrix, Liz Phair, Minutemen, Offspring, Pearl Jam, Pentangle, Queen, Rancid, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Replacements, Dead Kennedys, Soundgarden, Talking Heads, Violent Femmes, White Stripes, Weezer, X, Joni Mitchell, Chuck Berry, Echo and the Bunnymen, The Knitters, Blind Lemon Jefferson, T-Rex, etc.

Movies:

Wizard of Oz; Willie Wonka (Gene Wilder version); Serenity; The Matrix series; Lord of the Rings series; The Big Lebowski

Television:

Heroes, Scrubs, Medium, Lost, ER, Survivor, Dr. Who, Firefly, Buffy, Angel

Books:

I usually get obsessed with a topic and will read anything related even if it crosses genre for a while. Time travel was a biggie for a while, and I read science articles, sci fi novels, time travel romance, fantasy, mainstream fic., etc. as long as it was related to the idea. My favorite on that topic was The Time Traveler's Wife. Right now I'm on a shapeshifter/ vampire kick, so if you have any recommendations....Some authors I dig: Marion Zimmer Bradley, Orson Scott Card, Sherilyn Kenyon, Alice Walker, Gloria Naylor, Robert Jordan, Toni Morrison, Maggie Shayne. Also, I love comic books, but gave them up a few years ago, when space for the 45+ full long boxes became an issue (not to mention the expense). I still miss them sometimes though.

Heroes:

Pearl "Mommom" Silverman, who knitted her way through good times and bad and is sorely missed; Mom, who is a fabulous, outgoing, smart, beautiful woman with the ability to make people feel at ease; all the women, famous and not, who paved the way so that I don't have to be afraid to have a voice.

My Ordinary Day
