Chewing gum for the ears

About Me

Born in darkest Nottingham, UK, I have since stumbled flinchingly into Amsterdam, NL with just a guitar, suitcase and gimp mask. My journey in sound has been blighted by several disasterous career moves, but I now find myself liberated of all shackles and can now screw things up all on my own. Assisted by various people with more talent in their little finger than me, We Are OK proudly present their take on a genre that has been hung up to dry like a lost glove on the fence post of life.

4000 people can’t be wrong

Well, we reach the 4000 plays figure like some kind of asthmatic trout reaching its nesting ground with a plectrum in its mouth. "Unfortunately, Peanut Butter" is being well accepted and nobody has ri...

The devil will find work for idle hands

Haven't done any Myspace schmoosing of recent which has had an adverse effect on my soaring play stats. Therefore in a desperate attempt to drum up interest in my ham-fisted attempts of being a musici...

3000 plays and still haven't given up the day job

This weekend I will be abandoning my filter sweeps and compression techniques for more spontaneous recording techniques such as putting a mic in the middle of the room and banging percussive instrumen...

2001 plays - a spaced out odyssey

It´s like waiting for a no.40 bus round here. You twiddle your thumbs for months awaiting 1000 plays and then the next 1000 happen in a couple of weeks or so. Yet more songs are done and the remote pr...

The journey to enlightenment must start with 1000 plays

So with a bit of a recent flourish, I hit 1000 plays. Somewhat lagging behind such friends as Houdek and KEyed, but nevertheless a landmark.... of sorts. If only no.1000 knew that I had a shiny plasti...

Wherever I lay my Juno 106 that´s my home

Such are the changes in one´s life that where I previously went flat hunting in Amsterdam, looking for the funky areas and a place with enough room and power sockets for a mini studio, now I find myse...

A&R men burnt my soul.

Is it true that there's no point sending demos to record companies now as A&R men just sit there on their fat arses and just browse MySpace to find out what da kidz are listening to? And if they f...
