NEMO

Cheaper than crisps...and sweeter than soul...

About Me

The begining was just the start of it, when Andy met Paul, and Paul met him back, one summers evening in 2001 (It was like Woolton Parish Church Garden Fete all over again). Through a mutual interest in music and self-trepanism, they soon realised that two men could not make as much of a row as 4 and so collered a passing bass player and self confessed 'beard-a-holic' named Lee and a keyboard player called Leon.
The first gig quickly followed, and it was at this gig where a dark, mysterious stranger christened the band "NEMO". Next to board the good ship NEMO was Desmond on drums. This line-up remained stable and NEMO mooched around the honky-tonks and bars of Newcaste-Under-Lyme and Stoke until tradegy stuck and NEMO lost their "pee-anna player" to a virulent bout of parenthood. Quick to step into Leon's place was local "man-about-town" and proliffic stilt maker Kramer Caldwell.
Blessed with keen eyes and swift elbows, NEMO were back and gigging and making a row all over the shop, untill yet again, fate's cruel hammer fell squarely at NEMO's door. Desmond left to persue his own career as a sub-aqua merkin salesman (for the more diserning skinny dipper).
Being a drummer (as he was with other local band Fibrestream), Kramer rose to the challenge and jumped from keyboards to drums, and thus has remained to this day.
Now'er days NEMO have succomb to the Myspace allure and even Paul has a solo thing going on here, www.myspace.com/porl even though he can no longer spell his own name properly. Although it's not really a solo thing as he is normally in the presence of other people all the time, mostly but not always.
Like a tramp, playing a penny whistle out side the "Pop Idol" studios after a bottle of Aldi whiskey, NEMO continue ply the Stoke-On-Trent public with Rock n Roll and dodgy pound-shop coloured flashing lights.
And please...don't mention the fish...or there will be violence.

Last night a D.J. saved my life

It's true. Bruno Brookes pushed me out of the way of an oncoming car at the last minute. Without him I'd be roadkill.

Invented a new instrument!
