About Me

Here is the I-45 story: Back in the day childhood friends Tripp Von Slipp (Billy Kinnamon) and Tech. Ron B. (Tony Avitia) were working at at grocery store. Tripp bagged groceries, mopped baby piss, and harrassed customers. Tech also worked at this grocery store. He was in charge of stocking tampons, toilet paper, and fungus powders. Then one day, a few years later....I-45 was born. Two MC's, an Ensoniq ASR-10, and the death defying turntable feats of DJ Rudy Martinez 2000 soon cemented the band into the minds of millions. Tours followed and hundreds of shows were logged. The first nationwide tour was done in a GEO metro...That's right. Great on gas, bad in New York City traffic. State to state, city to city, VFW halls, clubs, bars, amphitheathers, stadiums. They have toured with some of music best bands: Linkin Park, Ice T, KRS-1, Kid Rock, and many more. They rocked out at all of the famous landmarks; The Roxy and The Whiskey in L.A., Washington Square Park in NYC, and a memorable show on the steps of the U.S. Capital in Washington D.C.. They have appeared in Rolling Stone and been featured in an MTV video. Short trips to Mexico and Canada. By 2002, the fellas took a short break from extensive touring to live their lives, get jobs working for the man, serve occasional jail time, and most importantly......record new material. They are currently putting the final pre-production touches on their fourth studio album, simply titled "I-45". 15 new dazzling tracks for release in early 2007. They have come together once again to pump new blood into the stale heart of pop music. Now armed with DJ Destro, they are one of the most incredible live acts around. Their live shows are an animated spectacle that mixes humor with the true essence of hip-hop. The band is currently on tour and when not touring, they split their time between San Diego, California and their hometown of Houston, Texas. You know.....home of the playas and pimps. Good Times. Please enjoy the music, the video, and the pictures. This site will be updated weekly with new stuff so come back and don't forget to scroll down the page and check out the I-45 OFFICIAL Myspace site. You can find that in the top 24 of this page. More music and nonsense over there too. Peace and Gravy The I-45 Tribe!!!
