About Me

..

Pimp out your webpage with PimpWebpage

I was born and raised in San Leandro, California for 13 years of my life, before moving to American Samoa in 1989. Initially, we landed in the island of Upolu in the far-far away kingdom of L.A. Park (Aleipata). So you could just imagine the agony of moving from a place that bore life's basic necessities of electricity, paved roads, refrigeration, cereal, milk, McDonald's and Twinkies (was that all???) to a place where you would be considered lucky if the boys of the village that left in the morning to go fishing came back with fish...and of course, everything you eat was either broiled, baked in coconut juice...(Samoa's natural laxative)...anyhow...to make my precious long story short...here it goes...I graduated from Samoana High School in 1995, went to ASCC and graduated in 1997 with an A.A. in Liberal Arts...transferred to BYUH for a year and studied MIS, came back to ASCC in 98-2000 and graduated with an A.A. in Pre-Law and Certificate in Criminal Justice...I am currently teaching in American Samoa for three years now. I teach English at my high school Alma Mater, Samoana High School. I graduated with a BA in English Literature & BA in Historical and Political Studies and a BS in Criminal Justice emphasis in Pre-Law from Chaminade University. I never thought I'd be teaching, but now that I have done so for three years, I think it just might be the calling I'd enjoy till whenever. Hoping next year I'll the strength to start graduate school. My personality can be explained by others as compassionate, considerate, loving, blatant, trustworthy, dependable and most of all full of all types of humor. being better and taking the risk to step away from the conventions of life with the hope that it will make a better place for anyone to live comfortably without fear is what I envision...Other than that, the Dakota you met before is pretty much the same.

My Interests

I love to play the piano when I can get to one. I love singing as much as dancing. I enjoy going to the movies, renting movies and kicking with my girls as much time as I can. I love studying about the Pacific and anything that deals or connects to it, whether it be legends, the studies of social stratification, I am interested.

I'd like to meet:

... people who know how to have a good time, always considerate about the feelings of others and most of all those who don't talk behind other people's back. I can't stand those who do that...it just shows how much lack of self-confidence and self-insecurity they possess. IF you have a problem with me, pull me to the side and let me know...don't try and read me in the presence of my friends or family or act like you know what my cup of tea is...nothing reeks more than a person who assumes they know you like your mother. In reality, not everyone in the room can, with the exception of a few really close and intimate friends.... i'd like to re-meet or run into my old students that i've taught and see how well they are molding their lives in terms of their life's desires and aspirations...a student of mine once said, "i want to know as much as i can when i go to college...so that i can be the best at what i'm doing"...if we only wish we could start all over again with what we know now, boy would we all be millionaires...but you can't...and i can't either...from this I learn to be better at what I do and never settle for mediocrity...we should all have that desire...and i'd like to meet anyone who is consumes these qualities...

Music:

I love R&B, Hip Hop, Rap, Country, Religious and some Alternative. But I love my Island Music (Old & Contemporary) to the "T".

Television:

Lost, Will & Grace, 20/20, 60 Minutes, The Price is Right, Family Feud, Desperate Housewives, Gilmore Girls, SNL, CIS, CSI: Miami, CSI: New York and CSI: Vegas, George Lopez, Golden Girls...gotta love em!

Heroes:

My Parents! Without them, I'd be flagrantly le mafaufau! Besides my parents, my other hero is Dr. Vena Sele...you are my role model and what you are emanates so gracefully from all your experiences which turn into the subtle lessons of life that we (your daughters) must reflect upon from time to time for comfort in a world of uncertainty and cruelty...love you!

The Rainbow Spectrum

It's weird when a heterosexual looks at a fa'afafine and says they are all the same.  To them, there is no fine line or a visible spectrum of difference between those who flame, dress, discrete o...
