DJing since age 15, Chris Hawkes aka Platinum Filth started out mixing up Hard House & UK NRG, from there he moved to Trance, Hard Trance & Hardstyle. These were genres much loved by him, and one which showcased his talent from an early age.
More recently Chris has played with Jackin, Electro/ Tech & Minimal House Sounds. Chris is well renouned for dropping 'filthy' twisted basslines and blippy & trippy tech.
Chris's influences for his dance music passion include Econu, Attison, Deepgroove, Tom Middleton, Yoji Biomehanika, Armin van Buuren, Matt Hardwick, Eric Prydz, Justin Robertson, Tom Neville, King Roc, Hoxton Whores and Derrick Carter .... just to name a few!
Chris was known in his hometown of Wolverhampton as DJ Delishus; his first pioneering DJ name, when he played pure funky house. Chris played various venues and nights over the West Midlands, which set him is good stead for his future DJing career.
Platinum Filth is Chris' new alias! Let's get filthy! Chris can be seen weekly, playing some of the biggest nights and raves in Sheffield, and has done so consistently for the past 3 years.
Chris has also guested at many events and venues across the UK, playing alongside some of the biggest names in the house music industry! Chris can also occasionally be seen DJing alongside his bk2bk childhood friend Sam Wicks. Expect special things when these two get together!
Chris is sure to be hosting the largest parties and clubbing events, and DJing a fair few of them! Watch out for him when he moves to London in Summer 2008!
