I enjoy seeing movies, reading, exercising, playing computer games, yachts (I do not have one myself, but one day...), and getting together with good friends for outings to new restaurants and films. I enjoy meeting new people.
Fellow filmmakers, actors, actresses and people who have a great love for film and see it not only as a business, but as a form of art. Remember, it is both Show and Business. You need both. But I also enjoy meeting new people outside the film industry.
My favorite station is C89.5 FM in Seattle. It is a dance top 40 format run by high school students out of Nathan Hale High School. However, I like most music such as pop, rock, classical, some jazz, and some country.
I go to a lot of movies so what ever is playing I try to see. Usually, at the Cinerama Theater which is the best movie theater in Seattle. Thanks to Paul Allen for buying and restoring the single wide screen theater, which seats 800 in plush comfort, to its former glory.
Heroes, Desperate Housewives, Battlestar Galactica, Stargate, Stargate Atlantis, Las Vegas, Lost, 24, South Park, and Smallville. CNN and news programs as well as The History Channel and E! Network.
I recently finished A Killer Life by Christine Vachon, a great film producer, and The Devil's Guide to Hollywood by screenwriter Joe Eszterhas.
My parents naturally come first, but I also have to mention an individual who was a great influence on me when I studied film producing with him. Producer/Director Stanley Kramer who made a huge, positive impact on the motion picture industry and race relations in America. He was a great teacher of film who had as his main wish to inspire his students to pursue their dreams of making great movies. His widow Karen Kramer is currently setting up a website at www.stanleykramer.comHe taught that "It's not that Hollywood does not like message movies. It's just that it does not like message movies that lose money. So, if you are going to make a message movie, make sure it earns a profit."
