About Me

I was born and raised in Seattle, WA and lived my entire life here. This is a place where you can live your life full measure. It is a beautiful place to be and it certainly does not rain as much as people would lead you to believe.I started out in commercial/industrial real estate and got to know the area quite well. But I had an urge to pursue a long term goal of mine which was to enter the film industry. I studied filmmaking with Producer and Director Stanley Kramer, one of the all-time Hollywood greats, for two years at Bellevue Community College. Later I joined the Washington Film and Video Association and I made a lot of new friends and new contacts which eventually led me to become the film seminar coordinator for the association and also allowed me to get on the Board of Directors as Treasurer for two years. The association helped a great many people break into the film industry and have successful film careers without having to move to Los Angeles, CA.Later, I became a Location Manager/Scout for movies, television, and commercials including local, regional, and national for about a dozen years. I then decided it was time to branch out and become a film producer myself. I created a company called Seattle Film Group LLC. To produce $20 to $40 million dollar Hollywood features. Our website is at www.seattlefilmgroup.comCurrently, I have a team of film professionals in Los Angeles and another team here in Seattle. I am setting up a film development company to raise $7.5 million dollars from investors to develop several projects of which the best three will be made into feature films using A-list directors and A-list actors/actresses. Each film will be budgeted between $20 to $40 million dollars and funded by Los Angeles entertainment banks. We are looking to create one drama, or comedy film, one science fiction, or fantasy film, and one musical film. After the first development company, Seattle Film Development One LLC, is done making our first three films we will start up the second development company, Seattle Film Development Two LLC, and create five feature films distributed by major Hollywood studios and using A-list directors and A-list actors and actresses and also budgeted at $20 to $40 million and funded by Los Angeles entertainment banks.

My Interests

I enjoy seeing movies, reading, exercising, playing computer games, yachts (I do not have one myself, but one day...), and getting together with good friends for outings to new restaurants and films. I enjoy meeting new people.

I'd like to meet:

Fellow filmmakers, actors, actresses and people who have a great love for film and see it not only as a business, but as a form of art. Remember, it is both Show and Business. You need both. But I also enjoy meeting new people outside the film industry.

Music:

My favorite station is C89.5 FM in Seattle. It is a dance top 40 format run by high school students out of Nathan Hale High School. However, I like most music such as pop, rock, classical, some jazz, and some country.

Movies:

I go to a lot of movies so what ever is playing I try to see. Usually, at the Cinerama Theater which is the best movie theater in Seattle. Thanks to Paul Allen for buying and restoring the single wide screen theater, which seats 800 in plush comfort, to its former glory.

Television:

Heroes, Desperate Housewives, Battlestar Galactica, Stargate, Stargate Atlantis, Las Vegas, Lost, 24, South Park, and Smallville. CNN and news programs as well as The History Channel and E! Network.

Books:

I recently finished A Killer Life by Christine Vachon, a great film producer, and The Devil's Guide to Hollywood by screenwriter Joe Eszterhas.

Heroes:

My parents naturally come first, but I also have to mention an individual who was a great influence on me when I studied film producing with him. Producer/Director Stanley Kramer who made a huge, positive impact on the motion picture industry and race relations in America. He was a great teacher of film who had as his main wish to inspire his students to pursue their dreams of making great movies. His widow Karen Kramer is currently setting up a website at www.stanleykramer.comHe taught that "It's not that Hollywood does not like message movies. It's just that it does not like message movies that lose money. So, if you are going to make a message movie, make sure it earns a profit."
