It must have started in 1993 I was 10 or 11 my introduction to real rap was WU TANG sessions// the mystery of chessboxing in my brothers bedroom// memorizing each word that every rapper said then. It wasn’t long until I grabbed a pen and tried it// my favorite rapper was Meth I tried to be like him. I never knew there was UK rap then// so naturally I spat with an American accent… Before the days of Grime and UK Garage//couple years passed had to put a stop to that shit. Double cassette stereo the record on top, cheap microphone// bredrins used to come to my yard and spit bars// guess we must have been 15 at the time// Brent Borough North West London where my people reside. Never really tested my skills until I went to this night in Camden// WKD where people would rhyme. That’s when I realized these UK spitters had bars too// I had to step up my game and now I’ve surpassed you. Bored of the open mics continued writing my rhymes in 2002 a friend of mine called Nio got signed. He asked me to write a rhyme for a track that he had// I said gladly give me a pen and give me a pad and I’m happy// Give me a stage Ill rip it to shreds// It was crazy. We toured around the whole of UK// every town every city you can think of we came// I even performed in Malta on live TV// got a little taste of the life I desire to lead// and I have no doubts to whether I’m supposed to be in this Game// I’ve had thousands of kids screaming as I jumped off the stage.
The song was “Do you think your special” and they made it the single, shot a big budget video with mobile jingles// In 2003 T4’s POP BEACH televised ME! Rappin on the stage like a G// along side successful artists like Misteeq, Daniel Bedingfield, Big Brovas, Danni Mynogue// to 30 thousand fucking people I'ma kid from the roads// thought I was dreamin// but everything that glitters aint gold. Respect to Nio for the bring in and helping fulfill my dreams// after all that-can you believe they still didn’t sign me! I said FUCK IT// that’s when I met a guy called Pie// introduced me to this producer he thought I would like// called J.C..
That’s a new era..A new chapter.. He was the beatmaker and I was the rapper. We set up our own company called STANDARD PROCEDURE// opened a bank account, studio, mic and some speakers// till we upgraded it to the sickest of features. We shot our own video called Fuck wid Skyz// the reason behind the name? Cos you can’t Fuck wid Skyz// I wrote the treatment// the storyboard I wrote the rhymes// Got the locations, scam’d the camera, I got the lights!
Same time me and my brother won a nationwide competition so stop all the bitchin and listen blud the proofs in the puddin// I aint chillin till you know whose the realest. MEGA MAN (of So Solid) and TIM KASH were the judges// it was a tuff decision but they had to go for the illest// LUC SKYZ, DOC BROWN, Raise your glasses we DID IT! PRINCES TRUST, URBAN MUSIC FESTIVAL, with the biggest// international names in the game// despite the fact they mugged us off with the smaller stage// always a catch// but cuz! I was still in the presence of JAY!.. BEYONCE- ALICIA KEYS so please// let me breathe! (Breath) Our Roca Fella dreams of running our own company faded// the studio got raided and shit got taken. Similar to a heist of priceless Art// I lost half the songs- that we worked so hard on// I got the bad news when J.C called my- phone// told me what transpired and I felt like cryin// I’ve told the truth I’ve never felt like lying. (Pause) That new era got badly tainted like the baseball caps// and once there messed up u can’t bring it back. started to feel my business partners couldn’t see what I see// so we agreed to end it indefinitely.. The same year I spat on the best UK RAP/ COLLABO track// INJURY TIME by CHOONG FAM you kids remember that!.. Radio had WHATS THE MEANING playing on heavy rotation// with other songs of mine// I ain’t patiently waiting// Oh yeah! Plus my songs were on the A-LIST PLAYLIST of 1XTRA- they’ve shown me LOVE from the start blatant!.. I dropped a video for a track called RAISE UP- that got played on CHANNEL U And on BASE blud! Over 40 THOUSAND VIEWS on YOUTUBE that’s saying something!! Especially when I’ve got NO management and no paper cousin! Especially When I only added it in September 2nd// 2007 What the F can you tell me bredrin! Then I made a WHATS THE MEANING VID for the principle- I’ve gotta teach the ignorant bout what they aint hear in school…
NOW my albums done with NO distribution// so I’m forced to shott my CD’S ON ROAD// like I’m movin food man.//…It’s what I call the beautiful struggle// make that independent scrilla// it’s a beautiful hustle.
