About Me

Karen studied violin with Julian Haylock and Jeremy Ballad before broadening into electric violin and contemporary music. Karens work as a freelance violinist includes sessions for Granada TV, Natural History Museum, BMW, Nissan, and her live work demonstrates a breadth of styles including pop, folk, jazz and classical.
Karen is also passionate about teaching, and on behalf of Access to Music she set up The British Academy of New Music in London, which she then ran for 3 years. During this time Karen also received an award sponsored by the Arts Council of England for Culture and Diversity which was presented by Sir George Martin at BAFTA.
Karen continues to balance a career that encompasses both teaching, and performing. If you are interested in booking Karen for a violin session please do so via Sessions Online: www.sessionsonline.co.uk
