Oh well.....I'm a member (leadguitarist) of a Finnish AC/DC -coverband VV/TV.
Yeah, I know playing in a coverband sucks but at least it's a lot of fun sometimes...yep, honestly it really is!
I remember starting to play at the age of 11...with a piece of shit cheap acoustic guitar with strings set up so high it made my hand hurt! It was no fun playing it, believe me, so I got my first electric guitar, a Les Paul copy a couple of years later. I used to play my guitar through old 50's made tuberadios when I was a kid before I could afford an amp, hahaha.. The sound was pure Dynamite ;-) I got some pretty nasty electric shocks too from the tuberadios back then---nah, that had no effect on me whatsoever if the lack of needing viagra doesn't count ;-)
My first real guitar-amp was Fender Vibrolux Reverb, a 45W tube combo. It didn't take long for me to realize that I needed more balls and watts so a couple of other guitar and bass combos later I bought a 100W Laney Clipp tube-head made in the 70's with a Marshall 4X12" cabinet, hehehe. After that things got rocking 'n rolling a lot better for me and of course I've had a bunch of different guitars (good and bad) and amps since that. I miss most my old 50W Marshall tubehead and ADA MP-1 tube preamp...
I had some cool experience of teaching some guitar playing about 12-13 years ago to a bunch of teen rockers, haha! That was really cool! I would like to do that again some day. I think I did a good job at teaching them. As it comes to my guitarplaying, I'm selftaught, so it helped me a lot to teach the others cuz I knew what was important to learn first without spending a long time figuring out what to do with a guitar, hehe
I've been playing in many different hard rock bands other than VV/TV and I like playing a lot heavier stuff than VV/TV too, hmmm.. a LOT heavier really!
I like to record my own instrumental hard rock guitar -stuff at my home whenever I got the time.
I like to keep contact to other people so I write a lot. So if you want to become my MySpace friend, don't be disturbed too much if you get a long message from me someday ;-)
And back to VV/TV....We've been playing AC/DC (mainly Bon Scott -era) for 20 years now, can u fuckin' believe it!!! and we do it in FINNISH! PERKELE!
I'm planning to form another band some day in the near future and no coversongs allowed this time, hell yeah! It just gotta wait for now cuz my new dayjob is killing me at the moment :-(
Check out our "therapy" band VV/TV's page too http://www.myspace.com/vvtv
