WHERE AM I GOING, AND WHY AM I IN THIS HANDBASKET?

About Me

Where I reside:I live in a great community on the north end of the Big Island and I love it. Woohoo! It's beautiful, peaceful, and equal parts quaint & hip. I am in love with Hawaii. Paradigms have definitely shifted and I am pretty damn happy these days. One reason I love it here: About Me: Mmm Oxymoronic. Bart & Lisa. I'm either the dingiest smart chick ever or the brainiest retard. I am cynical, but kinda hopelessly romantic. I am mischievous but will usually follow the rules. I flip off The Man while paying my taxes dutifully. I'm easily offended by political idiots and I'm overly sensitive about the world's sadnesses, but I laugh inappropriately, always always. I cry easily but mostly prefer punching. I'm an articulate potty mouth. I'm an angry chick that laughs a lot, and a genuinely happy fatalist. I am a stepmom with major maternal urges but I still selfishly want more Me Time. I am a social butterfly that likes to be left alone. I'm keen on monogamy and I respect whorishness (not usually on the same day). I booze and Whatnot, but I feel reallllly healthy. If James Lipton were to ever ask me (he won't) what my favorite word is, I will say, "Bittersweet". My favorite curse word is Shit & Fuck. And just cursing overall.I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4

My Interests

Reading reading reading. Writing. Film - I could watch movies all day everyday. NPR. KCRW. PRI. Taking too many pictures. Riding my bike. Wandering, Hiking, Sailing, outdoorseyness in general. Sightseeing. GOING TO THE BEACH AS OFTEN AS POSSIBLE. Scuba & Snorkeling. Yoga. Pissing off smugly religious conservative hypocrites. MY GIRLFRIENDS on the mainland, they're the best, and I miss them terribly. Playing boardgames with pals. Losing at Scrabble and always being surprised. BBQs with friends & family. Taking more pictures. Watching Adult Swim. Laying in bed with my hunny & watching TV in our underwear & poofing. The giggling. Music music and more music. I love Sushi yes I do I love Sushi how 'bout yooooou

I'd like to meet:

This is really just an excuse to play with my now-faraway pals on the mainland and discover new music, but I welcome new YinYangy friends. ALTHOUGH - I think it's kinda weird to get random friend requests from strangers without a Hullo Note, so I guess I wouldn't mind such a greeting from a New Person first. Compliments usually speed up the Friend Request Acceptance process hork hork. Just kidding. Maybe not.

Music:

Allkindsa stuff. No heavydeathspeed metal, no gangsta, no crappy poppy country. Everything else in between is a big hell yeah. CURRENTLY-- ON VINYL: Heart, Elvis, Dire Straits, Joni Mitchell. Simon and Garfunkel, John Lennon, War, Taj Mahal and blues in general sounds really good on vinyl.OF THE WEDDING GIFT FROM PAUL: Michelle Shocked, The Apples in Stereo, Detroit Cobras, The Be Good Tanyas, Ugly Duckling, The Bats.ALWAYS: Big Head Todd and The Monsters, Nina Simone, Los Lobos, Patty Griffin, Lucinda Williams, Billie Holiday, Joni Mitchell, Lyle Lovett, Liz Phair.

Garden State. Journey of Natty Gann You Can Count On Me. Clint Eastwood's snarly flicks and his new ones. It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World. Postcards from the Edge. Sound of Music. Singing in the Rain. Kung Fu Hustle. Amor Es Perros. Adaptation. The Namesake. 70s Disaster flicks, anything with Paul Newman. Cheesy dance movies and musicals. Soapdish, Junebug. Anything with a rural Italian landscape. Donnie Darko. In America. Jesus' Son. The Station Agent. Annie Hall - about the only Woody Allen film I can tolerate with him in it. Brick. Wayyy too many frickin' flicks to think of. I'm totally wayyyy down for the Hot Man Love . Sigh. Words can't suffice. RIP.More hot swordfights: I'M A MOVIE WHORE. I truly appreciate it as an art form. Or I'm an Escapist. Whatever.

Too many good writers out there. And yes, I'm a Harry Potter fan, and cannot blame it on the stepkids.

Heroes:

Those who say No in a sea of Yes Men. My folks are the greatest. Brave people who love really well. Whistle-blowers. Good communicators. Loyal friends. Whoever has the balls to get up and truly follow a dream. Oh, and

Magic No-Name Cat at the Olympics

Oh the irony. A second attempt. I was pondering about the kitten's apparent super powers. Not in a Spidermany kind of way, but in the totally plausible Bruce Willis in Unbreakable kind of way. For su...
