Elisa Rose

I've heard the most careless whispers.

About Me

Elisa Rose alternates between playing music with a rockin’ electro beat and a haunting acoustic sound, with beautful, icy lyrics and an early 80’s no wave dance vibe, reminiscent of New Order, Liquid Liquid, Depeche Mode and other new / no wave dance bands. Elisa Rose has spent 12 years making noise in Vancouver and now cranks out the beats from a small cabin in an even smaller town in the British Columbia interior.
From busking with her acoustic guitar on the streets of Ottawa at the age of 14, to completing a recording engineer program in Vancouver 13 years later, Elisa has had over 17 years to work on a sound that properly conveys her desire to make people laugh, cry and dance, all in the space of a song.
She has been active in the music scene in various ways, such as 10 years producing A Broken Record, a weekly radio program on Vancouver’s Co-op Radio, DJing at parties, art openings and other events, playing in the rock band Ackley Kid as singer / songwriter and guitar player and engineering, producing and remixing music for herself and others, including Amy Honey, Cadaver Dogs and Orphan.
A live performance by Elisa Rose includes guitar, laptop and sequencer beat box, as well as dynamite dancing and lyrical delivery that’ll give you chills up your spine and make you sweat whether or not you are dancing.
The music is smart, funny, sweet and sad all at the same time. Her lyrics will sting your heart and make you wish you thought of them first.
