Ricky Pierce

I am a singer/songwriter/musician. I have a band called Doghouse Rose.I grew up on a gravel road in Waco, Alabama in a house surrounded by cotton fields.As I grew up I walked and played in the fields as crop dusters dipped down and sprayed me and the cotton with pesticides.I began playing guitar at 14.I started playing in the clubs in the 1980's.I played in several bands such as Rampage,Diamondback,Eclipse,Wildhorse, Broshrimp and The Spunkeemankers.In 1995 I joined a band called Freeride and we played all over north Alabama and parts of Tennessee.We played 6 months at Castaways in Littleville,Alabama and 4 straight years every Friday and Saturday night at the Oasis.The original Freeride members have reunited to form the band Doghouse Rose. On New Years Eve 2004 I preformed at The World Famous Tootsie's Orchid Lounge in Nashville.I have a song I wrote with former Shooter guitarist Barry Billings on the motion picture soundtrack of Jeremy's Egg.In 2005 I was chosen out of 150 other songwriters to be in Walt Aldridge's songwriting workshop at ASCAP in Nashville.In December 2006 Chad Bradford recorded Cornbread Fed a song he wrote with Ricky Pierce and Tommy Glasgow. The song was released as a single and debuted on the Billboard charts at 194 and is currently #79. Ricky also has another cut on the CD called "Under the Cover".
