I'm the oldest major soft drink in the United States. A native Texan born at Morrison's Old Corner Drug Store in Waco in 1885. I was first mixed up by a young pharmacist named Charles Alderton. He mixed hundreds of carbonated drinks in the drug store before he finally came up with me. Morrison, owner of the drug store, named me "Dr Pepper" after a friend of his, Dr. Charles Pepper. In 1904 I was introduced to 20 million people attending the 1904, World's Fair Exposition, in St. Louis. That same world's fair introduced hamburger and hot dog buns and ice cream cones to the public. Now I am enjoyed each day by millions more. Drink up America! My ingredients areCarbonated Water, sugar and/or corn sweetener, caramel color, artificial and natural flavoring, phosphoric acid, sodium benzoate (preservative), caffeine, monosodium phosphate, lactic acid and polyethylene glycol.
