About Me

Despite the fact that he has only recently celebrated his 33d birthday, Andreas Carlsson has enjoyed more success than most other songwriters can hope to achieve in a lifetime. Having received 4 Diamond Awards, The Diamond Award recognizes sales of over 10 million, the Export Price from the Swedish Government, as well as 5 US Grammy Nominations and 1 Emmy Nomination, Andreas has established himself as one of the quintessential songwriters in music today. As a writer, his work has sold over 100 million copies worldwide. After beginning his musical career as an artist, Andreas decided in 1996 to focus on his skills as a songwriter. It was during this time that Denniz Pop invited him to join the world famous Cherion team as a lyricist. Realizing immediate success as a writer, Andreas deferred his aspirations to be an artist, although his voice can still be heard on many of his productions.Among his first successes was Until Time Is Through with 5ive, which immediately shot to the number 2 position on the UK charts. It was soon after that a 16 year old girl named Britney Spears flew to Stockholm to record eight tracks for what would become her record breaking debut album Baby One More Time, which included the single Born To Make You Happy that was co-written by Andreas. Following this, Andreas began working on the Millennium album with the Backstreet Boys. One of the many songs he co-wrote with Max Martin was the undeniable pop classic entitled, "I Want It That Way", which reached number 1 all over the world and earned Andreas a Grammy nomination. Rolling Stone Magazine named I Want It That Way as one of the top 10 best pop songs of all time.Andreas continued to write, and the hits kept coming. "Drowning" for Backstreet Boys, "Bye, Bye, Bye" and "It's Gonna Be Me" with N'Sync (both of which reached number 1 on the US charts), "That's The Way It Is", "I'm Alive" with Celine Dion, and "Everyday" with Bon Jovi, and "Invisible" with Clay Aiken. Other artists who have recorded Andreas' songs include Westlife, Lindsey Lohan, Hillary Duff, Def Leppard, LeAnn Rimes and Nick Lachey.Shortly after Denniz Pop passed away in 1998, Cherion was dissolved. Andreas, alongside former team masters Kristian Lundin and Jake Schultze, took over the facilities and renamed it The Location, which is now a publishing company for new talented writers.Andreas has continued to write and produce hit songs, like Dreams with Diana DeGarmo from American Idol, and We Are, the first European single from the SPIDERMAN 2 soundtrack. Last year Andreas penned "Inside Your Heaven", the biggest selling Country single of the year, going platinum, also a Billboard No 1 twice for Carrie Underwood and Bo Bice, as well as writing half of Paul Stanley from KISS solo album Live To Win. He is currently working with Anders Bagge running label/production company Veriola discovering new talent. This summer Andreas wrote/produced/performed a new project called DANDY, more news to follow. As of now Andreas divides his time between his homes in Sweden and Los Angeles.
