I like going to the movies; I make a very cheap movie date and/or dinner date- I dont eat at the movies (I think of it as mindless eating) nor do I eat after seven pm. I studied graphic design, so, many things, not all of them, but many, that relate to arts, such as theater, art shows, concerts, etc. I do find interesting. Black and white photography is just beautiful. Simplicity is ingenious. Love comedy- there are many comedians I like, Margaret Cho and Kathleen Madigan are my favorite; Carlos Mencia is also on that list. What else? I am sure there are many things that I just cant remember on the spot, but this is a good start.
Kind people, funny people, all sorts of people, really, who respect different points of view. Basically, if you don’t shove your opinion down my throat, we will get along just fine.
In my humble opinion, Chris Botti is a genius with his instrument (no pun intended); Michael Buble- there are no words, the man is amazing; Ive been listening to Mary J Bliges latest disk Enough Cryin, there are three or four songs I truly enjoy; I have very little appreciation for country music, even though Shanaia Twain has made some major contributions to that style of music. John Legend Rob Thomas Santana a little bit of Draco classical music on my way home from work- it relaxes me.
Movies? Love them, especially the independent stuff. Just to name a few of my favorites, to show you a little bit of my twisted mind- But I am a cheerleader, Hitch- great first date movie; Inside Man- I found it to be very smart; Crash- amazing!; Imagine you and me- the last independent movie I saw; its sweet, I saw it twice, understanding the very heavy English accent and jokes much better the second time around. Transamerica, Monster, Passion of the Christ, Closer, Shopgirl, Match Point, both Shrecks, Chicken Little, Stranger than Fiction.
Dont get to watch too much television lately, maybe its part of growing up, maybe it's lack of cable at the apartment, who knows, but some of my favorites are Roseanne- gotta love her; House- I would allow that genius of a jerk to diagnose me any time, the character is very talented, after reading a couple of interviews with Hugh Laurie, the actor who plays the main character, I have respect for him as a father- I liked what he had to say on upbringing of his daughter, plus, I love his sense of humor, I think the man is funny; L Word- have watched every episode, religiously, not so happy with the last season, have to wait for the next one, but that is so far away; Monk- I am a little Monk-ish, I am obsessive compulsive germaphobe, but not to his extend (thank God!) Law and Order Last Comic Standing
Until relatively recent, was not a big fan of reading- still do not enjoy reading manuals, but for pleasure I like to read and reread Russian Classics, strictly in Russian- I tried reading Chekhovs Cherry Orchard in English, couldnt get past second page, my friends thought I was a sadist masochist for doing so, some things just get lost in traslation; Oscar Wild has some nice things to say- I like his aphorisms; Erick Maria Remarque is a great writer, I enjoyed reading his Arch of Triumph, and a couple others, names of which I cant seems to translate into English right now. Dale Carnegie has a very good understanding of human psyche. Sidney Sheldon is very captivating, easy to read, too.
