TINNELL MEMORIAL SPORTS PARK
A Tinnell Memorial Committee has been formed to remember Patrick Allan Tinnell a Lake Havasu City local, brother, friend, and a fallen soldier from the war on terrorism to protect our country. Patrick saved the lives of four members in his unit and received the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart and other honors. On April 19, 2006 he lost his life in action, while on combat patrol in Iraq from a road side bomb.He is the first casualty from the war in Iraq from Lake Havasu City.
Patrick was a avid BMX bike rider, in both racing and freestyle. He was known for his daring tricks and willingness to help others learn and enjoy the sport.
..
The committee will also include a place in the street course of the park to remember Colin Sasseen for the love of skateboarding.
Colin a Lake Havasu City Local Skateboarder was 14 years old when he was killed while skateboarding in the safest place possible - his driveway - when he tripped at the end of the driveway into the path of an on coming car. Colin was an avid skateboarder, a well like kid with so many friends.
This 40,000 sq foot multi - use sports park has been designed by Brian Harper with California Skate Parks & Pillar. When the park opens it will be available to over 7,000 local kids and an unknown nuber of visitors. The park is designed to be able to host state competitions, special exhibits and events.
The Park will provide a positive and goal oriented atmosphere for todays youth. Research clearly demonstrates that positive youth activities that provide structure during after-school hours are critical for reducing high school dropout rates, teen pregnancy, drug use and juvenile crime.

FEATURED UP COMING BAND - JUDGE JACKSON
..
..
Hailing from Los Angeles,CA, the quartet formed in 1995 when vocalist/lyricist Todd McTavish met guitarist Lee Jackson and bassist Ryan Rogers through a mutual friend. The guys started writing together and almost immediately sensed a special magic musically between them. Thus began the process of putting Judge Jackson together.
The band played the famed LA club circuit for the better part of the nineties and released their self-titled debut in 1998. Their second CD ,8068, was soon to follow to critical praise. Both releases help develop a devoted hardcore fanbase due to strong word of mouth and the buzz of there explosive live shows. The band started to gain more notoriety with a building radio presence, local & regional press and a few national television appearances...the band we're on a roll.
After completion of their 3rd CD, One Diamond, a line up change was made within the ranks. Soon after, drummer J.J. Garcia, a friend and fan since their conception joined the fold. Now revitalize and focused, Judge Jackson resumed there mission of bringing the band and it's music to another level. In 2005, One Diamond was re-released through a national distributor and the foursome toured throughout the US to support it. The bands profile was heighten immensely due to the support of various media outlets in touring markets along with a rapidly developing Internet presence. The songs, "Amazing" and "Times Been Changin" from One Diamond received airplay from over 35 radio stations across the country throughout the year!
Going into 2006, it continues to receive spins from a variety of satellite and Internet radio outlets all over the world. Just recently, "Times Been Changin" was featured in the hit TV show My Name is Earl on NBC. Currently, the band is been busy finishing up the recording of CD ..4 due out early '07!
