Takilma’s Live in 2008

About Me

Takilma takes its musical roots from the River Delta of Northern California. The band was a musical alternative to the very grungy nor-cal rock scene that was present in 1996. The bands interesting hybrid of rock n’roll, blues, folk and even some jazz set it apart at that time. The first Takilma lineup of Brian Kinney, Justin York, Micah Carnahan, Nate Hensley & Aben Vincent peformed live regularly until mid 1997 when Micah first departed the group. The group continued on until 1998 when all members decided to go on separate musical paths. ~~~Sometime in 2003 songwriting sessions began between various members of the group. By 2006 it was decided Takilma would be reforming. The new line up included original members Brian, Justin, Nate & Micah but now included a longtime friend and musical ally Basilio Salaices on drums. The group put out its first full length independent CD in spring of 2007 – Shoddy Craftmanship – which focused on the more Folk Rock side of the band, which was very present during those recording sessions. The CD did well for a completely independent release with only word of mouth advertising. Available for sale at live shows in CD format and available for digital download online.~~~ ~The band performed live throughout 2007 in California & Oregon showing its vast repertoire of rock, blues and folk rock. Unfortunately by the end of 2007 Micah Carnahan had left the band due to geographic & musical differences. Takilma’s last live performance of the year,on Dec. 15th 2007, was a rocking show. A well regarded & known blues guitar player on the nor-cal scene, Ed Loebs, admirably filled in on short notice. The show was a highlight for Takilma in 2007 and propelled the band to start 2008 by finishing off Takilma’s sophomore CD – Keep’n Her Honest – and on this disc the band does just that, keeps the music honest by giving it a real west coast bluesy folk rockin’ vibe! The full length CD, Keep’n Her Honest, is set for a April 2008 release independently by the band. The band will once again be taking the music to the people and booking live shows all along the west coast US, and beyond, for the remainder of 2008. Takilma will be retaining Ed as performing member of the band to fulfill all live obligations to support the new CD – Keep’n Her Honest – Will keep ya rock’n in 2008~ Peace~~~~Takilma may be reached by email at: [email protected]~~~~On the internet at: www.myspace.com/takilma , www.takilmamusic.com , www.isound.com/takilma , www.showcaseyourmusic.com/takilma , www.mp3.com/artist/takilma , www.numberonemusic.com/takilma , www.unsigned.com/takilma , www.ubl.com/takilma , www.reverbnation.com/takilma ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ..
