Incomplete Empathy was started in 2005 by singer/songwriter/guitarist Benny James, his brother and bass player Travis, and drummer Ryan Payne. After a year and a half of playing music and writing different songs, trying different styles, they were ready to record an album. However, by this time, Ryan had enlisted in the Marines, leaving the band without a drummer. Benny recorded the album with the help of a more experienced musician, Tony Stanley, who also contributed drums for the project. The album, Decadence, does for grunge music what bands such as the Killers and Jet have done for 80s music. Singer/guitarist Benny James, learned to play guitar to grunge, and many have said he sounds like Kurt Cobain, but he denies it avidly, claiming that the only resemblance is in the style of music. And he does that style rather well. Anyone who loves or has ever loved grunge music should definitely check these guys out.
