New "Sweet Soul Music" BIO!!
It’s No secret that Aaradhna is the South pacific’s 1 Soul Diva and on Valentines’ Day 2008 Aaradhna is releasing her new album “Sweet Soul Musicâ€.
“Sweet Soul Music†is Aaradhna’s rich vocal interpretation of classic 1 hits from the music catalogues of world renowned R&B and Soul labels Motown, Stax & Atlantic records. These soulful ballads are the songs that inspired Aaradhna to pursue a successful career in music and have been the urban soundtrack to many peoples lives from the early 60’s until the present day.
Aaradhna is currently based in Los Angeles as a singer / songwriter & recorded “Sweet Soul Music†in her home town of Wellington, New Zealand using all live session musicians in 2006/2007, a new experience for the gifted songstress that added a warm authentic sound to the new set.
“Working with Live musicians was great as I could help direct the feeling of the song, plus it helped me to really experiment with my vocal arrangements & background vocals†says Aaradhna.
The new disc is Aaradhna’s first new album since her top 20 debut album “I Love you†in 2006 which spawned 2 X top 5 singles “Downtime†& “I Love you tooâ€.
The first single from the new album “I Want You Back†is a pristine update of the Jackson 5 classic, and is a song Aaradhna knows well from performing it live at many of her best shows and TV appearances. The new single has been delivered to radio and is already picking up heavy rotation on local airwaves!!
A must for real soul lovers Aaradhna has chosen notable classics like “Natural Woman†by Aretha Franklin & “Let's Stay Together†by Al Green as well as more obscure classics like “Betcha By Golly Wow†originally by the Stylistics & “Didn’t I Blow Your Mind†by The Delfonics to showcase her rich & natural vocal range.
“When we were deciding on album tracks I didn’t want to record the most popular Soul classics, I wanted to look deep into the labels vaults and find real gems like “Bring It On Home†By Sam Cooke one of my personal favorites†Says Aaradhna.
An essential ingredient in any soul record is a breathtaking duet, and on “Ain't Nothing Like The Real Thing†Aaradhna pairs up with the plush harmonies of R&B brothers Adeaze for one of the albums defining tracks.
Simply stated on Valentines Day 2008 Aaradhna is back with 14 new tracks of immaculately crafted soul classics + a bonus Aaradhna original the popular “Warriorâ€.
Aaradhna who is of Samoan and Indian descent, epitomizes the strong, independent female R&B diva that is the benchmark for performers today, and with a bright future ahead of her in Los Angeles, “Sweet Soul Music†is an invaluable edition to any soul record collection.
