About Me

My name is Dave and I live in Andover. I moved to Southampton from Liverpool when I was 5 or so and from there came to Andover I think. I was young I don't quite remember. I did used to live next to the Dell, so I guess the Saints were in my head young even though I supported Man U whilst Cantona was there, but since he left and forever more I am a Saint!
I don't do much with my life right now which I admit can worry me. But then I think that before I do anything I want a set goal, I'm not sure what this is yet so I just want to relax and have fun.
I love music, but not just any kind. The few types of music that I absolutely will not even give the time of day to are screamo "rock" rubbish. I want to hear the words because in any great song they mean something. "Look at mother nature on the run in the 1970's". If you know the song imagine it screamed?! Rubbish and talentless. Also I don't like Jazz.
I love football, I play it as much as I can and I like to think I'm getting pretty good! I have no time for playing in a team with people who won't pass, a nice team goal is so much better than a single one.
I also enjoy playing a bit of poker too. I say it's a game of luck but that doesn't mean I don't appreciate the power of positioning or the mathematics of the game but at the end of the day it depends on what card turns over and that is luck.
Video gamesare also a past-time of mine but again I'm a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to them. MGS 4 for instance will be the ultimate game. Halo 3 will not. (Killzone 2, anyone?)I alson own both a PS3 and an XBOX 360 but the PS3 is always gonna be my baby, it's all about the pad!
I have a girlfriend who I love a lot. We've benn together a long time and still no real arguments, it's just what I always wished for and now I have it, I appreciate it a whole lot so Kudos to her.

To be honest anything that stops me being bored, is brilliant. Obviously I spend time on my PC and other than that I like to get drunk when I can down the town with my buds because then I get to see people who I think are great but don't see much otherwise.

Music:

Foo Fighters. I love that band so much. Other than that it's basically random songs and Zero 7 because you can just chill out so well to that stuff. Destiny is like the most beautiful song ever.

Movies:

I love movies. My ideal career would be to write them because thats just amazing. Die Hard is an amazing movie. The best film of all time is American Beauty because after I watched that I changed and that is an awesome achievement for a film. Any good film should make you think like that at the end. Shawshank Redemption is a classic too just like Cool Hand Luke. "Sometimes nothing's a real cool hand, Luke"

Television:

I watch all sorts but mainly I watch comedy. The office is an amazing show it really is and old school comedy like Porridge is great too because it shows the difference in times. You won't see a character called "Black Jock" anymore.

Books:

I've only ever read, The Lord of The Flies, but I really liked it. Maybe because all of the conventions and meanings behind the time it was written were explained as we went along due to it being a GCSE text. Also A Short History Of Nearly Everything is amazing.

Heroes:

It's easy to have heroes, the difficulty lies in knowing why. My Role-model is my dad cos he is just amazing, he's had such an interesting life and now he's just really laid back and its great when its just the guys in the house.
I think Muhammad Ali is a legend. He is a man who stood up for his beliefs at a great cost to himself but he didn't care. Who knows what he could have achieved in the ring during that time. "No Vietcong ever called me nigger".
Anyone who stands up for what they believe in, who faces unbeatable odds knowing they can only lose but loses anyway for the sake of their beliefs is amazing, if somewhat simple.(EDIT: Recently a band told me that this was descriptive of the music industry, if you believe that then I seriously dislike you because you're an idiot in a dreamworld)
Since I read on Wikipedia that Matt LeTissier turned down a move to AC Milan, one of the most illustrious clubs ever in world football, to stay at lowly premiership strugglers Southampton I've had nothing but ultimate admiration for the man. He was a footballer to whom money was not a factor, he loved to play football for a club he cared about and there isn't enough of that in football today.
