Complex Simplicity

Taking R&B somewhere it's never been before.......

About Me

Eileen Roxanne developed an aptitude for music before she could even talk. The West Indian songbird belted out her first solo at the age of 4, penned her first song by the age of 8, and was recording by 11. “My father had a strong passion for music, so naturally I just went under his wing”, she said. Not only did she fly, she soared. She was classically trained and her vocal capacity took on a life of its’ own. In highschool, she took over the coveted position of choir directress, being the only student to do so in school history. She was also hand picked by popular basketball coach Benny Washington to perform the national anthem at various sports venues. Her love for singing and desire for quality entertainment drove her to pursue her craft. She began creating a name for herself by performing at weddings and a variety of local functions. While performing, she was approached by a stranger that simply wanted to tell her how much he enjoyed her performance. “ I remember it like it was yesterday. I was singing at a church function and this man approached my with tears in his eyes and told me that my voice was God given and that I should never let it rest”, she said. And she took to those wise words. As she matured, her vocal prowess became evident and her song writing ability grew stronger. In the spring of 2006, Roxanne was approached by local powerhouse RedDott Entertainment’s CEO King Pen to perform the vocals on a song for his upcoming album. Roxanne took the part without hesitation and “Gangsta’s and Thugs” became a street classic. Roxanne was given the opportunity to perform with the group as the opening act for artists such as “Z-Ro”, “The Last Mr. Big”, “Lil Flip”, “The Ying Yang Twins”, and a host of others. With motive and opportunity intact, Roxanne started working feverishly on her own project. Teaming up with talented producers such as Big Perion, HPK, and H-Cane, Roxanne went to work penning 11 songs in 2 days and recording 4. Her first single “Love Remedy”, produced by Perion, was featured on RedDott’s mixtape. Its’ infectious melody and sexy lyrics catapulted the banger into a true underground classic. Her album "Complex Simplicity" is scheduled to debut next summer. The energy and sound created by Roxanne is a revelation for R&B. A caliber like hers comes along very rarely, so expect big things from Roxanne in the near future.
