SILENCE

SILENCE was born in San Francisco and grew up in San Jose, CA. He wrote his first rhyme at 13 and let his spit speak for him ever since. His style can be categorized as a HOOD-BLACK- FRAT-BOY sound. Its a mixture of the mob music he grew up on, the political music he has such a respect for and the dont-give-a-fucktivity free spirited party music that he has experienced in parties throughout the States and beyond. "I think theres a unique perspective that I bring to my music. I have been through some grimey ass street shit.situations where, looking back, could have gotten myself killed or in jail for a long time. However, I also made a lot of good decisions, one of which was takin my ass to school in one of the black party Meccas, Atlanta". Additionally, you can definitely hear a political/socially conscious side to some of this artists music. This, no doubt is definitely linked to the fact that SILENCE works with inner city youth in multimedia labs that contain a music studio and equipment where they can design their own graphics, shoot and edit their own videos and create their own web sites if they wish. "There was a period where I had damn near given up on the rap thing. The youngstas that I work with inspired me to pick up the mic again. I think it all happened for a reason because now I feel more of a responsibility to put some messages in some of my songs".To date, SILENCE has appeared on mixtapes in the Bay, Detroit, Atlanta and recently the Airwear New York CHOSEN FEWmixtape hosted by BETs former Rap City host DJ MAD LINX. He has performed with ol school rapper ROB BASE, recently appeared in a showcase in Chicago, and continues to appear in showcases and local clubs throughout the Bay & E.OAKLAND where he has been living for the last several years. He is mainly working with producers FADEDMONK, JAYJAI, Tugboat, AVO (BEAT BANG production), REL (D2S), and Amil G (ClearHAZE). SILENCE is working on tracks for his album and the mixtape series LIQUOR STORE CHRONICLES that will be distributed in the most pristine dope spot liquor stores in the Bay, Chicago, Atlanta, Detroit, and LA.Noise is the shit that people are able to block out, thats partly why I consider myself the absence of noise.
