I'm not James at 16 or Chachi in Charge

About Me

I (used to) spend quality time singing and playing guitar with the (now defunct) power-pop band
scotty brooks campaign.
I play bass and sing with the weirdo-punk band
man without plan.
I occasionally play guitar with my old-school hardcore punk band
uppercut.
I am also currently playing bass with the hardcore band
killing time.
Additionally, I record/produce/mix music for other bands, such as
the anabolics.
I just finished producing a record by the indomitable
scream and scream again . Soon you will be able to hear it, and you will cower in its rock presence.

In grade school, I played 1rst Marquess General Charles Cornwallis in a Revolutionary War play; I had to surrender to the Continental Army at Yorktown and hand over my (plastic) sword to George Washington. It bummed me out a little.

He's a Magic Man

It has to be kind of weird to learnvia CNNthat your brother had been robbed at gunpoint while visiting South Africa. But that's just what happened to a friend of mine, just the other day.  NYHC...

(figuratively) Strange (literal) Signs

I drove past a sign today that read: "No Littering--$500 fine." So I quickly threw a paper coffee cup out the window. I just don't have that kind of cash to blow. Seems like they should fine you for ...

Nostalgia 1.0 (part 1.0)

Much has been written on the concept of near-instant nostalgia. I guess it's a strange and interesting phenomena, the idea of feeling nostalgic about the recent past. And I guess the implication is th...

School Still Unbelievably Safe!

I like how the shootings at Virginia Tech have been described as "the worst school shootings in American history." (I've seen that more than once, and I haven't exactly been seeking that story out.) I...

U.S. Postal Service Forever!

I threw in "U.S." in the subject so you wouldn't think this was an exclamation of support for the band Postal Service. Or maybe it's The Postal Service. I'm not sure. I never really heard their music....

I think people who are struck by cars are fucking idiots. Let me amend that: I think people who are stuck by cars while walking in the road are fucking idiots. It's one thing if you are strolling alon...

A man of many talents

Since my last name is kind of ethnic and unusual, I was curious about how many other "me"s I could find if I Goggled my full name. To my surprise, there were quite a few Chris Skowronskis out there, ...

I like to write blogs about blogs...

I can understand why MySpace blogs allow you to note what music you might be listening to while writing, or even what movie you might be (half) watching. But what's with the choices "Reading (Books)" ...
