My Interests

Playing piano/ guitar/ violin, 5-a-side footie, reading a lot

I'd like to meet:

My ancestors and the grandparents I never met. Also Mozart. I would like to invite Matt Lucas, Bill Bailey, Terry Pratchett and Dawn French to a drunken barbecue at my place.

Music:

Feeder, Led Zepplin, Chillis, The Stones, The Kinks, Pink Floyd, Supergrass, Beatles, The Cure, Oscar Peterson, Dave Brubeck, Ella 'n' Louis... also old-fashioned Reggae, Bhangra, old-fashioned Funk, all the violin and piano concertos, English folk fiddle. NOT modern R'n'B which is LOATHSOME.

Movies:

Family favourites; Star Wars, Superman, ET, Sound of Music, Austin Powers, Stargate, Dusk til Dawn, Donnie Darko, Life of Bryan ...

Television:

Lost, Fawlty Towers, Friends

Books:

Fave is "The Count of Monte Cristo" by Dumas. Anything by Terry Pratchett, Murakami, Vikram Seth and Amy Tan. All Tintin and Asterix. Adult Roald Dahl books, Susan Cooper's "The Dark Is Rising" series. Bill Bryson. The Harry Potter lot. Other fave books include "Wild Swans" (I met Jung Chang and got a signed copy from her, yay!) "The Kite Runner", "The Time Traveller's Wife", "Never let me go", "Memoirs of a Geisha", "Captain Corelli's Mandolin", "The Magus", "Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell" by Susanna Clarke which is AMAZING. Anything with a bit of intrigue and some historical content is good... I could go on...

Heroes:

Steve Irwin, Mike Myers, Bach, Mozart, Terry Pratchett, Matt Lucas, my grandpa (serious WW1 and WW2 hero!).
