Update OCTOBER 2006
Whats it got to do with us....unpaid debt, Sandi Thom, The Arctic Monkeys, R1, John Peel, Youtube and a sack of Spuds!! . It is strange but the wierd thing is I only realised we were the connection after this month got written up...so.... October in Flameland hangs like this:-
The Shame of The Nation video reached 2000 hits on Youtube but more importantly people are engaging in a bit of debate on the Youtube site... which was what it was all about anyway...
Tristan (Flame fiddle) has been out on tour with Jimmy Page's mates Blackbud, Tris is also TMing for Ninjatune's LA based Poplevi (Flame front Pete was helping Piplove earlier this year and all credit to Peplovi for the myspace hypertext spelling starter course!)
While Tris was doing talented Mr Piplevo, Rog covered the fiddle for an acoustic show with Pete. This also featured talented guit slapper Mark Wilson. With healed hand Mark was fresh from an appearance on Radio Ones Zane Low. Pete and Mark have in fact played many events together over the last few years but know each other from Pete's old residency hosting The Liverpool Cavern songwriters.
... to quote John Lennon "give petes a chance"... Pete Wylie (Mighty Wah) had Pete's Myth giving him a hand for the John Peel day gig. This was a great night by all accounts and made all the more special by the gracious presence of John's widow Sheila, it was also fantastic to see Liverpool venue the Picket back on target. All credit to Phil Hayes and Neil for the work there.
DJ Darren "Son of a Preacher Man" Lee pulled in Pete's Myth to work on the acoustic rework of an earlier garage track by UK chart topper Sandi ("I Wish I was a Punk Rocker...") Thom. While Sandi was round town Jay (Flame bass) slapped in a storming covers set with Sandi's guitar man Marquis... another Hannah's nite on the belt for those funksters.
Ryan (Flame drums) has been banging in the hours working on Ian Finch from Supervision's album.
For posterity the original Dreamcatcher Cybershow video is finally up on googlevideo..now this is about us unceltic and unflame like as you get (it has loads of sexy dancers QED!) but Flame blood sweat and tears were truely shed on that, Pete:-tears, Jay:-sweat, Ryan:- blood (...don't believe me check his hand in the close ups for the martial arts bit of the video!!). The link is here due to popular request, to quote Jay this week inadvertantly misquoting Vinny Jones ".....it was emotional" ....it certainly bloody was... all lock, stock and two smokin' interactive pads of it!!
http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?docid=611253914571994594 &q=dance+interactive+liverpool
Mike Crossey who as a student engineered and recorded the complex live soundtrack for that video is currently producing the Arctic Monkeys second album.....the Monkeys couldn't have picked a better man for that. Anyone that survived working on Dreamcatcher knows that every day of the rest of there life could be worse...my twitch is coming back... lets move on quickly!!
.. aside from all that boring creative stuff Pete helped Jay put in his new fitted wardrobes, Tris is still waiting for the money for the rescue flight he bought Pete to get him back from Hamburg, Roger's been passing around the massive spuds grown on his allotment and Ryan also got some massive tatt's (as in tattoes not tatties)...hmmmm actually I feel some Haggis and Tatties coming on now.
All the best to everyone with all their travels down the winding road....we're behind ya all the way! pm+tf! ************************************************************ **

NEWS UPDATE...
The chaotic world of Pete's Myth and The Flame....
After the last Celtic Night and The Barfly gig Pete's been off gigging in Germany, Austria, Italy and San Marino and a big thanks go to The Sharks for learning the Flame tunes for the gigs in Abruzzo. Pete's also been up in Scotland helping Andy Munro finish his "Is it Real" album for the launch at The Edinburgh festival.
The original Flame line up just got back from the Kelmscott festival supporting The Wurzel's (oooaaarr), yep still going though the combine ain't so brand new anymore!! The video of us post-country-pub-lockin trying to put tents up in the pitch black may appear here sometime.... once it's bleeped!!
Roger thanks Emily from the bottom of his heart for her tenting expertise, Rambo (call that a knife) Ryan Dundee thanks Emily from the heart of his bottom too... and we all thank Cat and Fiddle and Martin for the great vibe and hospitality.
As for our myspace we hope you enjoy the newly posted not finished yet monitor mix of "Don't loose Your Faith" above (of site currently), and streaming from youtube "The Shame of the Nation". This version was a quick aside while we were helping Andy Munro with his own album launch, but the song appears here with photos that never needed a song to make the point.....we also included some links to documentaries available on the web and we welcome more suggestions.
We hope you find the new stuff interesting and thought provoking as always we look forward to your comments.

We like to put up live stuff on our site, we think you find it more interesting??? To see videos full size follow the link above to view videos. MyGen Profile Generator MyGen Profile Generator MyGen Profile Generator MyGen Profile Generator MyGen Profile Generator MyGen Profile Generatorfronted by former Liverpool Cavern Club acoustic host Pete's Myth The Flame has enjoyed recent exposure as a result of renewed interest in Britain's folk rock scene. A moody shy retiring but diplomatic frontman for The Flame, Pete's brand of celtic influenced folky rock songs saw him gigging in Italy, China and his native Scotland last year.
a man with two sides:-
. ....a cheeky motor mouth...whose utterances vary from the mildly distressing, to the consequential .....the incident at Beijing airport was a wake up call but it can be proved that his explosive arrival at Rome Ciampeno was unrelated to Pete ....it is also verifiable that the evacuation of KCR106.7 fm during a Flame session was not Pete's fault...but it was in fact Tristan (well you can't trust fiddlers, all that scrapping there's bound to be smoke!)...
on the stage with the Flame is one thing but the song writing gives an insight into a more thoughtful side.
Flame facts are often stranger than fiction we'll put the details in a blog sometime
KWIK INFO

...Pete and backing vocalist Jacqui Jones warming up before THE COTTON CLUB, SHANGHAI 2005
"2005 was full of great gigging experiences not least appearing at Liverpool's Pierhead. The London based industry tends to follow imagery, we don't take that side of ourselves so seriously we've always relied on being a good fun band with lots of banter and character and the songs just seem to get through..... they always seems to have their particular fans. Last year was a bit of a surprise to us and the other Liverpool folky/rock bands, the national radio and press finally seemed to notice that Liverpool's new Celtic Rock scene had wider credibilty !!!"
