Here is the official "history" of John Chopper Harris.
Year 1963 in a little village somewhere in the Irish alps a strange boy was born.
The boy was named John Harris. He quickly learned how to play various instruments and by the early age of 17 he left the home. He earned a living working as a street-musician in Copenhagen a couple of years. Then he moved to Stockholm, Sweden, where he later on became a famous and respected jazz-musician.
On a cold day in February 1986 he disappeared, just as sudden and trackless as he had appeared. He left nothing behind, except four little screaming bastards. Who the mother is, no one knows (though it often talks about both Pj Harvey and some part of the Swedish royal court as possible mothers).
These four little souls was then sent out to different parts of the country to grow up as normal citizens.
Many years later in 2003 these almost mature individuals accidentally met in a room full of instruments. The whole thing felt good and together they all started to explore their dark past by plinking on some guitars. But what they didnt know is that with the help of Johns watching hand they would form John Chopper Harris.
These four youngsters later on took their names after their lost guardian:
Emma C. Harris - The Singer
Olle C. Harris - The Bass Guitar Plinker
Kalle C. Harris - The Electric Guitar Plinker
Ricke C. Harris - The Little Drummer Boy
Since that day John Chopper Harris has spread their rattling garage rock over the country of Sweden in hope that one day they will meet their mythical father and guardian angel, John (and of course its damn fun to play the shit out of people).
