About Me

Films are my life. I eat them, i sleep them, and I make them. I am thinking about my new film 24 hours a day. And dance too. I love dance and spent most of my youth dancing. But I am also a very romantic person and love all things creative, such as the ballet, theatre, and of course music. I am very loyal and trustworthy and simply adore feminine girls. The more feminine the better. I love to have fun, but i am serious about my work. I travel a lot because of my shooting films around the world. I am very affectionate and a very positive person. I am happy all of the time. Even though i have had, and continue to live an incredible life, i am still a very down to earth guy. I am a very strong yet sensitive person at the same time. Right now i am spending a lot of time in Bangkok as i recently finished a film over here, an Epic Adventure film THE KING MAKER that Sony bought for the USA, and released on April 3, and that just won the Outstanding Film Award at the FICTS International Film Festival in Mumbai, India. Then, as an actor, I am co-starring in the film “Hanuman The White Monkey Warrior”, that is filming now in Thailand for a November theatrical release.I am also currently producing and directing a family musical film in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I love and appreciate anything and everything beautiful, from a rose to a building, to art, to nature, to animals,to life, to people, to all of it. And i really love Thai foot massages. Ha! ************************************************************ ************************************************************ ****BIOGRAPHY**********************David Winters has 25 Award nominations, and has been a winner 14 times, for excellence in films and television. Some of the awards include the coveted Peabody Award, Christopher Award, three World Television Awards and six Emmy nominations, to name but a few. ***************************************David was born in London, England. After moving to America he became a child dancer, actor, singer and appeared in 150 live television shows and 12 Broadway shows in New York City. Christopher Walken, Elliot Gould and David were all in the same tap dancing class when they were 13 years old. David was then hired as the youngest member of the cast in the original Broadway show of “West Side Story”, and was also brought to Hollywood to play the part of A-Rab in the film version of “West Side Story”. That film went on to win 10 Academy Awards and established David as a teenage star.At this time David teamed up with the now famous Paul Simon (Simon and Garfunkle) in a singing duo that went by the name of “David Winters and the West Siders”. David and Paul wrote all of their own material, played all of the instruments on their recordings, and sang all of the voices too, with David singing lead. Their recordings can be purchased today on the internet.Superstar Bobby Darin was a good friend of David's and signed David to his record company, Addison Records. Bobby personally produced David's single "Sunday Kind Of Love".Just after “West Side Story” he opened up a dancing school and taught such actors as Ann-Margret, Raquel Welch, Richard Chamberlain, etc. He became Elvis Presley’s personal choreographer and at a very, very young age he choreographed four Elvis Presley movies including “Viva Las Vegas”, five with Ann-Margret and the highly acclaimed Barbra Streisand, Kris Kristoferson film “A Star is Born”.David was a guest star on the “Nancy Sinatra Special” along with Frank Sinatra, Nancy Sinatra and Dean Martin and received his first Emmy nomination for excellence in television. He was a guest star and choreographed “Grace Kelly’s Monaco” with Princess Grace Kelly, and he was also a regular dancer and singer on the Tv series “Hullabaloo” where he created the USA dance craze “The Jerk”.After this he staged and directed the 2nd Unit on the film “The Island of Doctor Moreau” starring Burt Lancaster and Michael York.Mr. Winters then set his sights on producing and directing. His first directing assignment was the 2 year Emmy winning TV series “THE MONKEES” where he actually created what is now refered to as music videos. He also created, staged and produced the very successful Monkees World tour. The opening act for the Monkees was another young man then unknown to the world, by the name of Jimmy Hendrix. He has produced and directed over 70 features and over 200 television shows and TV movies that include: “ONCE UPON A WHEEL” starring Paul Newman “DOCTOR JEKYLL AND MR. HYDE” starring Kirk Douglas “RAQUEL” starring Raquel Welch, Bob Hope and John Wayne “THE LONDON BRIDGE SPECIAL” starring, Tom Jones and Elliot Gould “THE ANN-MARGRET SHOW” starring Ann-Margret, Lucille Ball “ROLLING ON THE RIVER” starring Kenny Rogers “TIMEX ALL-STAR SWING FESTIVAL” starring Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Ella Fitzgerald and Benny Goodman.David then teamed up with Diana Ross and staged and created two “WORLD TOURS” culminating with a command performance for President Ronald Reagan at New York City’s Metropolitan Opera House and two “DIANA ROSS” TV Specials. After this he created, directed and choreographed the Alice Cooper Rock and Roll Spectacular World tour and film “Welcome to My Nightmare”.His next production was the motion picture “FANATIC” which David co-starred in and directed, produced, and co-wrote. For this film he won the Paris Film Festival Award, the Los Angeles Golden Scroll Awards, the Sitges Film Festival Award, and a nomination by the Hollywood Academy of Sci-Fi, Fantasy and Horror as the best international film of the year - only to lose out to Mel Gibson’s “The Road Warrior”.Following this, Mr. Winters partnered with Universal/MCA to produce the esoteric video programme, “YOGA MOVES”, and with his good friend Hugh Hefner and Playboy Magazine for the CBS video “GIRLS OF ROCK AND ROLL” which become the long running Las Vegas stage production.David then decided to place all of his energy into making independent motion pictures. He produced and directed “THRASHIN”. A modern West Side Story on skateboards. He originally pleaded with the investors at 2 separate auditions to let him cast an unknown at the time, Johnny Depp, as the lead, but the investors would not accept Mr. Depp, telling David that “This kid will never make it”.For the sound track of “THRASHIN”, he introduced such unknown rock bands as Meatloaf, The Bangles, The Red Hot Chili Peppers and All The Fine Young Cannibals. They all went on to have No. 1 worldwide hits. The Red Hot Chili Peppers also appear in the film, in a live musical sequence. “THRASHIN” is the favorite cult film on DVD for skateboarders today.Because of the Johnny Depp incident David decided not to make any more films that he did not totally control himself, so in the next 8 years David produced, directed and distributed 49 films through his own Production and distribution companies Action International Films and West Side Studios,One of these “NIGHT TRAP” won the first prize “Gold Award” at the Houston World Fest International Film Festival. The film stars Robert Davi, Michael Ironside, and Margaret Avery, an Academy Award nominee for her performance in the Steven Spielberg film “The Color Purple”.Another, “GOOD COP BAD COP” starring Pamela Anderson, David Keith, and Stacy Keach, won the Bronze award at The Charleston Film Festival. His film “FIREHEAD” stars three time Academy Award nominee and winner Martin Landau and Christopher Plummer; “RAW NERVE” stars Glenn Ford, “CENTER OF THE WEB” stars Tony Curtis and “DOUBLE THREAT” stars Golden Globe Winner and Academy Award nominee Sally Kirkland. “THE DANGEROUS” stars John Savage, Elliot Gould, Joel Grey, between them responsible for 3 Academy Award nominations and one winner.David also created a USA theatrical division West Side Studios Releasing and played his own films in cinemas all over America. He also opened A.I.P. Home Video, a domestic video distribution company and released 2 titles a month on video in the U.S.A. for 6 years. He then went to Romania where he filmed the pilot for “Star School”, a unique musical television series. “Star School” won the coveted first prize at the prestigious Montreaux Television Festival.Mr. Winters is also currently a major stockholder of Handmade Films, an English film Production/Distribution Company listed on the U.K. Stock Exchange since 1999 as Equator Films.Handmade was created by George Harrison of The Beatles fame. The company boasts a Theatrical Star Studded library of over 100 films, that includes such award winners as “Time Bandits”, “The Long Good Friday”, “Runaway Train”, “Mona Lisa” and such stars as Sean Connery, Pierce Brosnan, Denzel Washington, Madonna, Jodie Foster, Michael Caine, Sean Penn, Jon Voight, Michelle Pfeiffer, Nick Nolte, Peter O’Toole, David Carradine, etc..In 2002 he directed and produced “Welcome 2 Ibiza” a comedy adventure starring Gary Busey ( Gary was nominated for the Academy Award for best actor for “The Buddy Holly Story” ) which won the Best Picture audience award at the Bangkok Film Festival. His latest production, 2 years in the making, and already sold in 32 countries, is an Epic Adventure film “THE KING MAKER” which he produced entirely in Thailand. It stars Gary Stretch who was Cleitus in Oliver Stone’s “ALEXANDER” and was nominated for a U.K. BAFTA AWARD for his frightening performance in the highly successful “DEAD MAN’S SHOES”. Gary, is also the former Light Middleweight Boxing Champion of the World. And John Rhys-Davies (star of the “Lord Of The Rings” trilogy and “Indiana Jones”)All U.S.A. rights to David’s “THE KING MAKER” were purchased by SONY STUDIOS who released it on April 3. And all Chinese rights to the film were purchased by CHINA FILM, the largest distributor in China, where it is currently playing in over 200 cinemas.Recently the film played in Thailand in 110 cinemas for over one month, where it received 4 Thai Academy Award nominations and won The Star Entertainment Award. On January 21, 2007 "THE KING MAKER" won the Silver Ten Award as Outstanding Film in the FICTS International Film Festival in Mumbai, India. Produced for $25,000.00 it grossed well over 600,000,000.00. He and the infamous star of this film Linda Lovelace lived together for over 2 years in a highly publicized romance. This film is an Imagine Entertainment Production, produced by Ron Howard and Brian Grazer ( Academy Awards for Best film and best Director for “A Beautiful Mind” ), “The DaVinci Code”, etc..Mr. Winters has many new diverse projects in development all over the world, all at different stages, and with many different partners. One of these “NICHOLAS JINGLE”, that David is currently producing and directing, is an animation and live action family musical that has just begun production in Malaysia. This film will take at least two years to complete. At this time, Mr Winters sees a great future in the British/European/Asian entertainment industry and spends a great deal of his time traveling between these continents. Although he holds both U.S.A. and British citizenship, he proclaims to being a citizen of the world. He can be found on the website www.IMDB.com commonly refered to in the industry as The Showbusiness Bible, or on www.davidwinters.net a Tribute Site, created and paid for by some of his most ardent fans.*************************************** "THE KING MAKER" **************************************Sold in 32 countries...USA release by SONY *************************************** 200 cinema release in China *************************************** 100 cinema theatrical release in Thailand *************************************** Nominated for 4 Thai Academy Awards *************************************** Winner of the Star Entertainment Award. *************************************** Winner of the Silver Ten Award as Outstanding Film, FICTS International Film Festival, Mumbai, India. I'd like to meet:

The Special one. Who loves Candle light.Mine is very beautiful, in every way , shape, and form, and ultra feminine. A lady on the outside, but sensual behind closed doors. She will have a special style and grace about her, as she will meet many people through my business. Should be a very positive person, caring, affectionate, sensitive, fun, honest, and most of all loyal. She will love all the creative arts such as cinema, the ballet, theatre, music etc. She will be my best friend. She is a happy person who likes to travel. I adore, cherish and respect women. I love everything about them, their look, their smell, the texture of their clothes, the way they feel, their eyes, their mouths, their graceful movements, their touch....everything **************************************“THE KING MAKER” released in the USA by SONY on April 3rdThe first review just after the release date. *************************************Subject;THE KING MAKER my review...Tom Ferrini.....The scope of The King Maker is epic like "Lawrence of Arabia" or "Ben Hur". Every scene is awesome and beautiful. One can watch it with the sound off and still be glued to this movie. It sort of reminded me of Leon Shamroy's work in "Cleopatra" or Robert Surtees from "Ben Hur", big in scope and breathtaking. Never distracting from the story, but a part of it.The film editing was SUPERB and glided like silk, this made the movie. The cinematography is a knockout and I was wishing I was in a movie theater watching it and hearing the audience gasp in delight. Recently I saw "THE 300” and was not impressed with the photography and it was in IMAX."The King Maker" looks like it cost 100 million to make and I looked at the Internet Movie Data Base and they said it cost only 15 million. The screenplay is superb. The words flow like they were said the first time, and the story is very fascinating, and at times funny, sad, brutal etc but NEVER boring. I think the screenplay is one of the movies strong points and I'm suprised this film was not shown in more cities like "The 300". "The King Maker" is far superior to “The 300” and never insults your intellect. The directing is first rate and far better then most epic films. It is a human story with great action scenes, and scenes of native customs and history. The director is little known in the U.S. but I have a feeling that won’t be for long. The acting is terrific starting off with Handsome Gary Stretch, who brings us a man who is sensitive, tough, and I am sure he will appeal to all the women. John-Rhys-Davies is wonderful, even better than he was in “Lord of The Rings”. The girl who plays Maria is a great beauty and fine actress, and I know i'll dream about her tonight (WHAT A DOLL!) But I think the lady who plays the queen gets my vote for top acting and I know I'll be dreaming about her also, she's so evil and mean, you feel like screaming "You Bitch" and "Hey beware of her". The women in this film look like beauty pageant winners. The actor who plays Father Pedro, a small part, excels. The whole Asian cast is perfect and very convincing. Here's what I didn’t like about the movie. I wish it was at least 30 minutes longer. I was so into the story and it was over about 90 minutes. I yelled "AW SHIT" because I wanted more of this terrific film. Epics like this should last longer. It had so much, and was over too quick. Maybe a directors cut someday? Please? This is a wonderful film. I wish that many people see it in this country. I will suggest to everybody to see this film and the music was also haunting. Siam and European music themes in a wonderful marriage of sounds.Congratulations Mr. Winters and Thank You for producing a film that at times is "Captain Blood" other times "Spartacus" and at other times "El Cid' and still have its own theme and flavor.Tom Ferrini...CPE
