Ciro Orsini – Profile:I am from Naples Italy and founded of the world famous Ciro’s Pomodoro chain of Italian restaurants and bars.I have been actively involved in the restaurant business since the age of 12 and my love for the industry and keen interest to become involved in every aspect of the business has led me to set up the successful development of the Ciro’s Pomodoro chain since 1978.I have been able to create these unique restaurants with the help of my family and especially with the influence of my mother’s home cooking! I am fortunate to have the 24/7 support of my business partner and nephew, Antonio Coppola besides the valued input and commitment that I receive from my nephews, nieces together with all my team of staff. My key to success was through an excellent combination of Pomodoro style pastas, pizzas and other great Italian dishes together with an extensive wine and cocktail list and by offering a first class service to all my customers. At the same time the best live music nightly was introduced and a celebrity themed décor was created throughout.I put my heart and soul into everything I do and I try to make everyone feel special. I always aim to greet customers by their first name and wish to make them feel part of the Pomodoro family. Hopefully this leaves a lasting impression with all my customers, including numerous celebrities, many of whom have become my closest friends. My total belief is that friendship and treating people well makes a celebrity out of everyone.After the immediate successes of Ciro’s Pomodoro in London and Los Angeles, with my love for travel, together with a bit of enthusiasm, I was encouraged to expand even further into foreign markets. My relationship with celebrities has formed the basis of my foreign policy, making them partners in my restaurants overseas. This has proved to be a successful format, and will continue to be a priority for future expansion.Today, I am delighted with the continued success of all the Ciro’s Pomodoro London branches and also back in 1994 I established a restaurant named Paparazzi Café in the Fulham Road, Chelsea, London (sister company to Ciro’s Pomodoro) with Tony Aalam and Mike Mahdavi.In 2001-2002 I celebrated the opening of new outlets in Cairo, London, Dubai and Kuwait. In 2004 the successful launch of a Ciro’s Pomodoro in Bucharest and in January 2005 the grand opening of an Athens location with the Greek Madonna, Anna Vissi and local operator Chris Panas and then again in early 2006 with the grand opening of Thessaloniki with local operator Dionisis Dionisiadis. In the coming years we intend to open in Cyprus, Ibiza, Mykonos, Marrakech, Cayman Islands, Mumbai and Doha which, like the others, are hopefully destined for the same success.I welcome you to enjoy my establishments like many celebrities have done throughout the years and join the superstars like Sylvester Stallone, Armand Assante, Pat Morita (from the Karate Kid), Patrick Swayze and Mickey Rourke to name but a few who have all enjoyed the quality of the food and entertainment provided, not only in London and Los Angeles where I started, but in my restaurants all around the world. Many a legend has graced our stages and joined our resident bands in an impromptu performance to the delight of all our customers and staff such as Stevie Wonder, Lionel Richie, Jerry Springer, Mickey Rourke, Paul Young, Rod Stewart, Anna Vissi, Chaka Khan, Sonique and more recently some of the members of Whitesnake, Steven Taylor from Aerosmith and Dolph Lundgrun amongst many others.
