You're Tulane University!
In the old days, you used to cheer for waves as they crashed on the beach. Now, you've just been crushed by them. There are many regrets that go along with this process, but now you're hoping for many happy returns. After all you've been through, it's tough convincing people that you're safe to hang out with, but you like to remind them of your aspirations to be a doctor. You want to save people, but first you have to save yourself.
GO GREEN WAVE! (and it's nice to be on Audubon Park)
Take the University Quiz at the Blue Pyramid .

My heart and soul reside in NEW ORLEANS, no matter where I live physically. I love Uptown and Magazine Street! I also love my job - being with books in the library is a wonderful thing. Books and music, two things I certainly couldn't live without!
I finally have learned to love and live with my curls, and curly hair people rock! I'm trying to make a decision to keep my ol' red hair that I've had forever or let the white/gray start to win... it looks so beautiful on my friends Susan, Jean & Jane, but I'm not sure I'm brave enough yet... maybe.
I like my eyes... sometimes green, sometimes blue, usually sort of aqua, but always with flecks of gold. Probably the only thing about me that I've always liked.
One of the best things in my life is that I've got amazing and wonderful friends who I love and cherish and am extremely thankful and grateful for having them grace my life.
My daughters, my mini-me's at times... I love them dearly, love watching them live their lives and grow into wonderful, strong, beautiful, smart women. I wish them both the strength and sense of my wonderful Grandmother.
I'm so in love all over again, with my beautiful Abbie Rose! I can't thank my daughter, Amanda, and my son in law, Ed, for giving us the gift of being grandparents! I can't see her, or hug her, or kiss her or spoil her enough! She loves me to sing the Meters "They All Asked For You" to her, so I've promised to take her to the Audubon Zoo sometime! Now I've got to get her, her very own copy of Terrance Simien's Creole for Kids CD!
My son...a photo copy of my husband, but with my curls...so bold, brave and smarter than he realizes. I see my father in him and I laugh, may he inherit my dad's common sense as well.
MY dog... Dozer, the best child yet! They don't borrow your car or money, they aren't demanding and you don't have to nag them to get off the phone, plus he is ALWAYS THRILLED to see me and loves me unconditionally! He may be a Pit/Lab mix, but he thinks he's a lap dog! LOL
To waste some time I'll play mahjongg on the computer, or solitaire. If I start playing SIMS, I could be up for days on end! It's way to addictive. Guess it's my chance to design homes and cities and be the architect I always wanted to be... hmm...

My Interests

HowManyOfMe.com

There are:
2
people with my name
in the U.S.A.
How many have your name?

Music, Books, Apple Computers, Dogs - especially my very own Pitty, everything New Orleans -- it's Music, it's Culture, it's People, it's Architecture, it's Food and it's Language. New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival and Mardi Gras... gotta love Muses and Zulu! I got TWO REAL coconuts last year, and one plastic. I've got next year's Mardi Gras costume whirling around in my head all ready. Does that surprise anyone? Not if you know me!

I'd like to meet:

I've always been fascinated by Pablo Picasso (yes, I would have gladly posed for him, he could do so much with simple lines although Matisse runs a close second), Amedeo Modigliani (maybe he would have painted me long and thin), Frederick Leighton (I would have been Flaming June) and Georgia O'keeffe (I love her style).
Umm... Matt Stairs! The lone Canadian on the lone Canadian baseball team, my favourite team... the one, the only, Toronto Blue Jays!! I just have a real soft spot in my heart for all things Canadian, so Matt really qualifies! He belongs in the HOF and I think lots of people need to open there eyes and take a good look at this mans record. He just hit his 11th Grand Slam, he's raked #192 in the top 500 hitters of all times. He's one solid mass of muscle, and he's so darn cute, with those dimples and those twinkling blue eyes! Well, I sort of met him recently... he signed several items for me! He actually came looking for me when I was waiting at the Jay's dugout in Philadelphia throughout the entire series... someone told him about me waiting for him and he came out, smiling and asked if I was the lady who had been waiting for him for 3 days! I was... and I was never more nervous in my whole life! LOL Wow... he's just so adorable, eh?Isadora Duncan (I love to dance), Ben Franklin (a fellow Capricorn), and several architects including I M Pei - (I've always loved the Green Bldg in Cambridge, the Javits Center in NYC and especially the Society Hill Towers in Phila, and how he designed the use of space for such an oddly shaped lot for the National Gallery's East Wing), Eero Saarinen (because I was always intrigued by the Kresge Auditorium and liked the Kresge Chapel in Cambridge), Alvar Aalto (Baker Dorm in Cambridge was weird and cool at the same time) and of course, Frank Lloyd Wright (got to love the Guggenheim, and besides, I own an American Four Square that constantly makes me think of him).
I would have like to met and gotten to know my paternal grandfather who died well before I was born, and and the great grandparents on the maternal side as well.
You are Bettie Page
Girl next door with a wild streak
You're a famous beauty - with unique look
And the people like you are cultish about it

Music:

Anything with a nice New Orleans spice to it... Zydeco, Blues, Jazz, Cajun, and Funk. I just love Terrance Simien and the Zydeco Experience, Tab Benoit, Sonny Landreth, Wayne Toups, Marcia Ball, Radiators, Etta James, Irma Thomas, Little Band of Gold, CC Adcock, Charlie Miller, Dr. John the Night Tripper (don't ask) ... you get the picture? Got Slide? Get da funk! Bruce Springsteen... sometimes I'm such a Jersey Girl. Although Superfreak bounces inside my head from time to time..."shes a very kinky girl..." and did I mention, Tab Benoit? (whew)I also like classical music, reggae, the ol' R&B, bluesy stuff like Marvin Gaye and Otis Redding. I'm not to crazy about rap or corney country.I love going to New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, Crawfish Fest and other music fests!

Movies:

Cary Grant... always a heart throb and a great comic actor, too. I love watching old movies on AMC... the Marx Brothers and Charlie Chaplain blow me away. I love Mel Brooks movies "why thank you, Dr. Frankenstein!" :) I also like suspense/mystery movies, a bit of classic film-noir... Bill Nighy, Orlando Bloom (he's just so freakin' adorable), Johnny Depp (what a hair dresser!), Tom Hanks, James Woods, Tim Curry, Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones are always on my list.

Television:

Grey's Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, NCIS... don't catch a lot of TV anymore.

Books:

Currently reading or have just read: The Great Deluge by Douglas Brinkley (PLEASE READ IT!), Lean Mean 13 (Janet Evanovich), Don't know much about Mythology (Kenneth C. Davis), The Pope's Ceiling (Ross King), Brunelleschi's Dome (Ross King), The Sunday Philosopher's Club and Friends, Lovers and Chocolate. I probably won't update this often, but I usually have at least 3 or 4 or more books going at the same time. I love books, and love collecting autographed copies of books - especially cook books.
Now the Evanovich/Stephanie Plum series... what a great discussion topic that brings up. Who should play what role in the movie? I'm all for using as many Jersey born/bred actors in the parts as possible.
Mira Sorvino as Stephanie Plum!
Queen Latifah as Lula (of course!)

Heroes:

My Maternal Grandparents - they raised 10 children and loved all 34 grandchildren and had the ability to make each of us feel as though we were the most special human being that ever lived.
My son for giving up 5 years of his life to the US Navy, and every other US military person out there. It's a tough life to live, especially having to put your famiy second, and doing a job you may not always agree with, for the protection of your country.
