Jacqueline N. Howell, Esq. is an entertainment lawyer. Formerly, Jacqueline was General Counsel, Senior Vice-President of Business Development & Legal Affairs at AllHiphop.com, Inc., the #1 website for news and information regarding the Hip-Hop and Urban music industry. In addition to identifying and developing unique business opportunities for AllHipHop.com, Ms. Howell advised AllHipHop on mobile content deals, Home Video distribution deals, licensing agreements, general contract issues, employment matters, intellectual property protection and various other matters.Prior to taking her position at AllHipHop, Ms. Howell practiced at Davis & Gilbert LLP where she represented clients such as the Zomba Music Group, Chris Brown, Mathew Knowles and SwishaHouse Entertainment in a wide range of general commercial litigation matters, including intellectual property and contract disputes related to music, television and film.As a member of Davis & Gilbert’s Diversity Committee, with the help of Learning Leaders, a non-profit organization, Ms. Howell spearheaded a program titled “Corporate Read-Aloud.” During the Spring 2006 semester, Davis & Gilbert attorneys visited an elementary school class in Harlem and conducted literacy, reading and story-telling activities. In addition, the Firm donated hundreds of books to the children’s personal library. By the conclusion of the program, the second graders exclaimed, “Here comes the Lawyers!”Ms. Howell earned her Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center, 2003 and Bachelor of Arts from Spelman College, magna cum laude, phi beta kappa, 1999. Her community involvement includes participation with the National Bar Association and the Black Entertainment and Sports Lawyers Association, Inc.
