KristinaMarie Cascone has been involved in music since she was a toddler. At four years of age, she began taking piano lessons and was classically trained until the age of 14. She attended The LaGuardia High School of Music & Art in New York City as a voice major, and acquired a minor in music for her undergraduate college degree. During her teen and young adult years, KristinaMarie performed as a singer/dancer/actor in musical theater. She had the privilege of playing Schprintze in Fiddler on the Roof, which included performances at Lincoln.
At the end of her teens, KristinaMarie was approached to audition for her first rock’n’roll band. It was at this point that she traded in her character shoes for a keyboard, a guitar and a cheap microphone. She has been performing with a rock’n’roll, blues, and original bands ever since.
Writing has always been an outlet for KristinaMarie. While a freshman at Music & Art H.S., she wrote her first song; she hasn't stopped since. There are certain outlets which can't be topped (other than by intensive therapy, electric shock treatment, or frontal lobotomy) for keeping one relatively sane in this wildly insane world.
She has had some amazing experiences along her undefined musical journey, including performing a song with rock icon, Richie Havens. KristnaMarie and her very talented duo partner, Vita Izabella have had some cool experiences along their journey. The enjoyed the thrill of winning first place at Harlem’s legendary Amateur Night at the Apollo with their original song, “Everything About Youâ€; winning several songwriting competitions; and most recently, traveling back and forth to Nashville to do a radio interview, some recording and writing, and participating in a CMT television show.
KristinaMarie performs all around the New York, New Jersey, Connecticut Tri-State area with a variety of acts, primarily Kristina con Vita – which, when joined by the boyz of rock, is called the K.R.A.V.E. band. She is lucky enough to have some really cool & talented people in her life. Some of the musical people of whom she is particularly appreciative are Vita, Andy Bassford, Rob Micucci, Charlie Spataro, Paul Umbach, Andy Mackle, Lonesome Tommy, and Chriz Brown.
KristinaMarie & Vita are currently recording an album with K.R.A.V.E. and hope to have it available by May, 2008.
