About Me

If you're finding this site from a card I gave you, thanks for checking it out! Click here to go see my pictures at Flickr.Brutally honest, unique combination of chill/mellow dude who listens to reggae and funk, and metalhead-who-goes-to-techno-clubs socialite.
Enthusiastically atheist and anti-religion, although i am a devotee of the Flying Spaghetti Monster .
Maybe there is a middle ground - Tiny Dinosaur Theory, perhaps?
I have impeccable grammar.
I also happen to like my own handwriting.
During the day, I work at Motorola in Schaumburg, a hellish suburb outside of Chicago. Yep, still doing the reverse commute from the city... i hope to never live in the suburbs. I have been there for six years as of August 2006. I manage customer issues and defects with live/active statewide 2-way public safety radio systems - fire/911/police radios and over-the-air data - specifically pertaining to my group's product, the Base Radios that sit at the towers providing radio coverage - very similar to how a cell phone system works, except our Base Radios can cover a 30-mile area, given the right conditions (and our biggest friggin' amplifiers). I really do enjoy my day job. It's a great job, challenging and different every day. But I'd go insane if I didn't have a lot of other hobbies and interests.
I am a live music/concert photographer and music journalist. My photos and writing have been published/will soon be published here at TransformOnline.com , playmusicmagazine.com (soon) , Stay Thirsty Media and No Labels (print only). Check out my photos at flickr .
I share a lot of my personal pictures on flickr , too. Feel free to check them out .
I'm a gym rat.
I fancy myself a Connoiseur of The Absurd. For example, this . And this, too. There's always this as well.

My Interests

Concert/live music photography. Bodybuilding. Guitar. Bass. Apple computers and cool technology in general. Honda tuning. Snowboarding. The search for that perfect buzz. "Extreme" and progressive heavy metal. Going to see live music, whether or not I'm taking pictures.

Movies:

You Are a Lemon Cake
Strong, sexy, and overpowering.
You know who you are, and you're not afraid to show the world your fabulous self.
You're confident, charming, and extremely popular. What Kind of Cake Are You?

Television:

used to be "meh", because until recently all I watched were cartoons - Futurama, Family Guy, South Park and Simpsons. More obscure stuff would be Home Movies, Metalocalypse and Dr. Katz. Recently though, I've come to like two "real" shows - Scrubs and 30 Rock. They're both kind of absurdist humor - almost cartoony, which is probably why I like them.

Books:

Brave New World (Huxley), Cat's Cradle (Vonnegut), Clean Like A Man

Heroes:

Patrick Fitzgerald, U.S. Attorney. One of the true heroes we have today. Stephen Colbert - for speaking truth to power, and ripping Bush and the lapdog media a few new assholes in the process. Abraham Lincoln. We share birthdays, and i've always felt a strong connection to him. Keith Olbermann. Today's Edward R. Murrow. Devin Townsend. The Frank Zappa of metal; leader of the furious Strapping Young Lad and the more dynamic Devin Townsend Band, and also renowned producer of albums like Lamb of God's As The Palaces Burn.

yuck

Ugh, I forgot how horrible EAS Phosphagen Elite tastes in the Orange flavor. Stacking it with NO-Xplode Orange doesn't help matters either.
