Axiom Addicts

Axiom Addicts started in 2002 as a duo of Singer/Guitarist Rina Kleege and Keyboardite Stephen Kleege, with the objective of freeing lyrics and melody from the shackles of bass- and drum-driven rock. After hastening the demise of such New York venues as Bar-B, the C-Note and CBGB's, Axiom Addicts in 2006 added performances as a full rock band. Other band members have included Mike Garner and John Herman on bass, Nick Moran, Ned Matura and Irv Gotbaum on lead guitar, Hollis Headrick, Tom Pollard, Alex Cascone, Carl Spataro and George Roberts on drums; and vocalist-bassist Debby Schwartz. In addition to performing regularly in Manhattan and Brooklyn, Axiom Addicts provided sound tracks for Birdshot Mountain (a vice presidential parody that appeared on Arianna Huffington's blog) and Caveman Robot, a multimedia musical comic strip with music by Debby Schwartz. Axiom Addicts also appear in Debby's soundtrack for Chris Harcum's play American Badass, performed in the 2008 Frigid Festival in New York.
