He started his education in the school system and private study with Mr. Phil Griess at the Westchester Summer Music program at the Westchester County Center in White Plains. At the age of 13, Tom was asked to join the High School band, making him a 5 year member. It was in High School where Tom had the chance to meet other musicians and play a wide variety of music including 4 high school productions of Broadway musicals. In the early 90's, Tom joined the NYC alternative rock band NO HAPPY FACES, playing venues including the Limelight, the Bitter end, and CBGB's here in New York, and The Roxbury, The Dragon Fly and The Whiskey, in Los Angeles California. It was with this band that Tom got his 1st recording experiences, recording 3 demo cd's with the band. During that time, Tom also kept a student base of 15 students or more and also performed in working bands, playing all kinds of different music including; Country, Southern rock, top 40, dance music, rock n' roll, blues, and even an Elvis tribute band. Later on Tom joined the Rock-a-billy/ Psychobilly/ RnR Swingin band SLICK PELT,( www.Slickpelt.com) look for sound clips of Tom performing), which features members who have played and toured with Brian Setzer. With that band Tom recorded the CD "XXX Rodeo" and toured throughout America including Chicago, Cleveland, Philadelphia, and North Carolina. Through out this time, till the present, Tom has been actively performing and recording with such artists as;JOHANNA (http://www.johannamusic.net/ ) Elza( http://elzamusic.com) , Cowboy Jane ( www.Cowboyjane.com) from Nashville. DeeAnn Macomson (http://www.girlmusician.com/more/mo.html, Michael Louis ( http://www.michaellouismusic.com/home.html) NATIONAL Recording artist LUCINDA ( http://www.lucindaworld.com/) Cory Delin (http://www.myspace.com/corydelin - Tom is on "fly" and "Red Rose" ) Danny Powers, And most recently RECORDING ARTIST LINDSAY KATT! ! ! He has also recorded Major market television commercials for GMC motor corporation and Sportsplex Sports clubs to name a few. Tom has continued his education, attending private lessons at Drummers Collective (http://drummerscollective.com) and private study with master drummer Sam Ulano (www.Samulanodrums.com) He is Currently teaching up to 43 weekly students in the New York, Long Island, and Connecticut areas, teaching from his Westchester NY. studio, doing house calls, or at the Rose Hill Music Center in Thornwood N.Y.
