Bound together by the contradictions of their origins band name, American Popular is more than a comment on the music genre -- the name is a statement about American culture itself. [exerting an element of irony].
Go to an American Popular show and you get the feeling you’ve just walked onto the musical equivalent of the Wild West – anything can happen and does. Occasional S&M/Burlesque clad girls onstage, a band dressed in Victorian-era coats, sex, drugs.. and occasional drunken brawls. Most things reflective of the traditional origins of rock ‘n roll debauchery that the American Popular so 'gracefully' uphold.
