About Me

MyGen Profile Generator

I’m Monkey68, a writer (of story and song ) who generally wants the world to be a bit better and people a bit nicer. Because one by one all those bits add up. How can we make that happen? Well, it’s quite simple - By giving something sometimes rather than taking all the time. I work to deliver honest, rich and absorbing stories and songs. Throughout my life, I’ve tried to hold true to that vision. I can’t not do it.

What do I have to give? Words, music, thoughts and feelings. Like any art, it exists to cause reaction (good... bad... it doesn’t matter, just so long as it’s not indifferent). The more I hear about how I’m doing, the better I can do, so if you listen to anything here or read anything I’ve written, feel free to get in touch. If you add me to your friends list, thanks - you have my love.

OK - the bio bit... Played guitar since I was 9, in bands since I was 13, lost the use of my hands at age 21 thanks to dermatitis and incompetent doctors, however still played with various bands (I trump Bryan Adams, my whole hand used to bleed not just my fingers) most notably The Vultures, Wonky Dodgem, Grope and Bagpuss as well as my home recording project, Idiosync. Finally got my hands back to normal when I moved to the US in 2003 and now firmly back to recording as Monkey68 with a huge backlog of songs from my broken hand days and new ones coming along all the time.

My published novels:
- Do Sparrows Eat Butterflies?
- Karaoke Criminals

Enjoy yourself and remember: Laugh more, hate less.

Peace
