There is no disguise which can hide love for long where it exists, or simulate it where it does not.

About Me

Last year, I came back from spending almost 6 months in Israel, doing a work/study program to learn Hebrew on Kibbutz Mishmar HaSharon. It was a good experience...I learned a lot of Hebrew (level Gimel!), got to know my Israeli family members better, and fell in love with my fiance Nelson, a Brazilian who I met in the Ulpan. I've been working alot, and preparing for Nelson to come here from Brazil so we can start our life together. Sorry to ruin the mood, but I will not accept strangers or bands to my contacts list. ****I was just in Brazil (Jan/Feb. 2007), visiting my Nelson, and meeting his family and friends! It's awesome there; see the photos below.**** News: Nelson got his tourist visa, and he'll be arriving in Portland for the first time ever, on May 25th, for a full month! We'll soon have photos together taken in 3 countries...just the beginning of our life of traveling with each other. Layout made by sarahg

I'd like to meet:

Old friends from school and the past...unless I didn't like you.

Music:

Israeli, classical, opera, oldies, folk music, some rock/pop.

Movies:

The Lion in Winter, BBC's Pride & Prejudice, BBC's Ivanhoe, more in that vein. "I could peel you like a pear, and God himself would call it justice!" Also 'classic' (corny) movies, like "Dead End", "Dead Ringer", and "Sorry, Wrong Number".

Television:

The Office, Jeopardy!, Law & Order, Project Runway, The Simpsons, all the shows on The History Channel and The Discovery Channel.

Books:

Angela's Ashes, The Pity of it All, Princesses, Anne of Green Gables (and all the Anne books). Classics (All Austen, Ivanhoe, Tess of the D'Urbervilles), poetry, biographies, history books, atlases.

Heroes:

The closest would be Orna Cohen, my Hebrew teacher from Kibbutz Mishmar HaSharon in Israel, a truly wonderful teacher and person. Nelson, my fiance and the best guy I've ever known, a very talented, intelligent, sweet, wonderful person whose endeavors I support wholeheartedly because we are on the same path, together. We are each other's soulmates, and he showed me that there is at least one true man in the world. Aaaaand we're going to get married and I get to have his babies!

My Blog

Waiting for my man to come online

This is technically my second blog, since my first one from when I was in Israel didn't save correctly.  It's just as well, I said some things I probably shouldn't have :)  I'm waiting for m...
