If you don't state your case, who will?

About Me

Meet three of my most important inspirations:
CYNIC --- Live at Hovefestivalen 2007, featuring Sean Reinert on drums =) PLEASE COME TO FLORIDA!!!!!!!!!
ROY HAYNES --- "My Heart Belongs to Daddy"
"I have it in my heart, man. I'm drumming while I'm eating, or when I'm sitting on a plane, or when I'm riding in my car listening to sounds. I'm constantly playing." ---Roy Haynes
CINDY BLACKMAN --- from her video "Multiplicity"
So, about me...DRUMS!!! MUSIC!!! I love drums and drumming and music, and nothing makes me happier than jamming out, discussing music, playing it, getting lost in it, and making it. I play drum set and djembe, and anything else I can bang on. When I have time do it, I like to learn other instruments as well. I'm a music (percussion) major in college.
I dream of touring the world with a great band, and that happens to be one of my life goals.
Currently I am working with ANDREW BAYUK, the three-time winner of American Idol Underground. Check him out at:
myspace.com/andrewbayuk
Here he is on an isode of Deco Drive (a TV show, for those of you who don't know). There is a shot of us jamming at the end. :) This aired October 4, 2007.
Some of my most recent and current projects below are:
DANNY LEEDS --- myspace.com/dannyleeds
AEVAL --- myspace.com/aevalmusic
TIMB THE UBIQUITOUS/KRUELLER --- myspace.com/timb
LYFEJACKET (a hip-hop/rap/groove/psychedelic band; a site is coming soon!!)
DANCE EPIDEMIC (a funk and rock covers band; site coming soon!!)
Sometime in the future (near or distant, whenever the right time is), I'm looking to start or join a musical project that would be a smooth, progressive cross between jazz, funk, rock and metal...something very progressive, melodic and beautiful...yet heavy, when appropriate (Gordian Knot and Cynic meets funk).
When I get the chance, I love to travel. I've lived abroad, and I would love to do it again. I love being educated about different cultures in places that are totally unfamiliar to me, and being forced to speak another language.
I'm a really friendly person and I'm happy to chat with interesting people, especially musicians. Life is interesting --- you never know what can happen, so why not?

My Interests

Drums, music, musical instruments, dancing, foreign languages, worldwide travel, humans

I'd like to meet:

1. ROY HAYNES again

2. SEAN REINERT (Gordian Knot, Cynic, Death, Aghora)

People who would like to jam with me, collaborate musically, maybe even take over the world....

People who are awesome...BURNING MAN people, open-minded people, curious people, down-to-earth, compassionate, and real people who are not afraid to be human, people who want to truly get to know other people, people who question everything, people who are passionate about life, people who will not lay down in the dirt and be crushed...

P.S. If you are a band reading this who wants to send me a friend request, please send it to my companion MUSIC profile, under the username RIVKAHROX, first friend on my Friends list. Thanks!!

Music:

Gordian Knot, Aghora, Cynic, Gaia, Vessel, Dream Theater, Liquid Tension Experiment, Roy Haynes, anything with Roy Haynes on it, Tony Williams Trio, Tony Williams Lifetime Band, anything Tony Williams, anything Cindy Blackman, Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, Tool, Dave Matthews Band, Jennifer Batten, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, Umphrey's McGee, Lettuce, Karl Denson's Tiny Universe, James Brown, Symphony X, Iron Maiden, Opeth, Death, Porcupine Tree, Army of Anyone, Sevendust, Bal Sagoth, A Perfect Circle, Van Halen, Megadeth, Pantera, Osiris Rising, Alice in Chains, Iggy Pop, Stone Temple Pilots, Nightwish, Rhapsody, Jack Off Jill, Royal Anguish (www.royalanguish.com), Collide, Lords of Acid, Kaki King, Hallucinogen, Prodigy, Seal, Savage Garden, Him, Eyal, Yahel & Moshe Barkan, some foreign music, and the list goes on and on...I'll give anything a fair listen.

ANYTHING BEAUTIFUL!!! If it catches me and moves me, I'll like it no matter what genre it belongs to.

Movies:

The Science of Sleep, Rent, Mallrats, Clerks, Clerks II, all of the American Pie movies, Just Visiting, Almost Famous, Velvet Goldmine, Napoleon Dynamite, Blazing Saddles, Monty Python films, Space Balls, Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny...you get the idea. I like to laugh or be strangely amused. No horror movies or romances!!

Television:

I do admit, I do have a weakness for music-related things, cartoons, South Park, and anything ridiculously satirical and just plain "wrong".....

Books:

I love to read (when I have time) -- mostly nonfiction that can teach me something of value. Lately it's been "The Secret."

Heroes:

Musically: Roy Haynes, Sean Reinert, Cindy Blackman, Tony Williams, Sean Malone, Jason Göbel, Paul Masvidal, Santiago Dobles, Jennifer Batten, Danny Carey, Mike Portnoy, Morgan Rose, Virgil Donati, Elvin Jones, Mikael Åkerfeldt...to name just a few.

Personal heroes: My family, especially the women in it, and my mentors.

Others: Anyone who thinks outside the box and is not afraid to take a non-traditional path of personal fulfillment in life; people who have not lost faith in humanity.
